I would take Carvajal over alves, not the current alves but few months back alves. And we never know when alves will return to that form. He is not getting young either.

I would only take marcelo from those rm defenders. People make danilo and carvajal here the new Dani Alves²²²²²²²²²², its hilarious, danilo is nowhere near worldclass yet and has to proove yet his hypetrain.

This season Alves has been better. The amount of passes he makes through the opponent's lines is something other fullbacks don't usually do.

As far as passing, one-touch football, stops and other technical aspects of the game, the only RB who's on par or even better than Alves is Lahm. Carvajal? He's good, but, creatively, nowhere near Alves on good form.

It is not even worth arguing. Carvajal is clearly the better player. Unbiased and sane people will tell you that.

Carvajal is a prime Arbeloa level player. What's with the overrating? Average crosser, average passer, so so defender, world class beard, gives his all on the pitch and that's about it.

It's simple. Alves is a better attacking fullback than Carvajal, but Carvajal is also much better at defending than Alves.

Still is. He was better before, it's just that he has lost his pace now. Even then, he rarely loses his 1v1 duels. Also, he has shut down many left wingers this season. Probably playing for a new contract.
