Yeah that's not what he's asking though, he's wondering if its normal for a non 'native Basque' player to be on the team. AFAIK you just have to be born in the region, the birthplace of your parents is not relevant.

i would like to see what a club like bilbao would do with more money and investments. they have atmosphere, a philosophy and dedicated fans and history.

Born in region and they extended it to parents from region as well a few years ago I think.
