If we look at things from Real's perspective:

If they lose against us again on Saturday and Ajax somehow kicks them out from CL, it's season over. Absolutely over.

Part of me wants to see it happen to see how much patience everyone in the squad and backstage has towards the media. They would automatically flip the switch to the rumors. Fans and socios would demand for heads to roll. That sort of end, albeit doomsday scenario, may well be necessary.

I don't see any signs of Solari being able to bounce back in a series of such tough fixtures. That month period of momentum cannot be salvaged anymore. Every one of our forwards relies on confidence for scoring. Can't do it if you scored one goal in 2 weeks, and it wasn't even from open play.

If we lose it all, I wouldn't be surprised we tore everything up and started summer early. Manager normally first to go. Sadly for Santi.

Doesn't matter if Real Madrid lose against us on Saturday, they're out of LaLiga race anyway.

Their 18/19 season will be evaluated depending on how they perform in Champions League.

Saying it as if we can lose 0-5 on Saturday and beat Ajax as if nothing happened.

This team doesn't know how to bounce back very well. No ice-cold leaders who play great no matter the score. Vinicius, Llorente are the closest we have. One of them is injured. The other can't yet score.

Ajax game will be bleak and desperate defense of the aggregate scoreline if we don't win on Saturday.

Nah, once the CL-hymn comes on, we went into clutch/luck mode, we actually knew how to win there.
Domestically we are basically a glorified Arsenal.
And once we play Madrid we suddenly work hard and we are focused. I'd say we would not have had a losing record vs Madrid in the last 5 years. We would've went out in 2017 and maybe 2014. Won in 2015 and in 2016. Toss up in 2018.

It's about match-ups in CL mostly. We are a bad match-up for Madrid. Atletico/Juve types are bad match-ups for Barca. Madrid struggle vs possession teams and usually beat defensive or counter attacking teams.

Because there are only 2 elite possession teams out there, Madrid are bound to draw sides who are basically inferior versions of them. They never played in CL against teams with the stellar attack of a Barcelona who keep the ball that well and have multiple match winners on the pitch at all times.

In every clasico we expose Madrid's defense rather easily because we have stellar players in attack. Other teams couldn't do that in CL. They just don't have the same resources.

We really should forfeit that match, no point in playing it anyways, and we get extra rest for Ajax.
Just need a proper excuse, Solari just need to say, idk, that half the squad got food poisoning or something.

Not true at all. If they win, our lead is cut down to 4 points (potentially, if Atletico wins) and 6 points respectively and given our hectic away games left Real Madrid is not out at all.

For us the worst scenario is (incidentally the most unlikely): we lose Clasico and Real is kicked out by Ajax. 6 points behind us and can concentrate fully on Liga.

Not over at all if we lose.

Some more thoughts after Classico;
Football has never been "fair", and never will be, its just how the game is.
We know this better than anyone, much to the dismay of teams like Juventus, Atletico and perhaps most of all, Bayern.

No one "deserved" to finally knock us out more than Bayern last year, not only due to the fact that they outplayed us all game, but as revenge for previous encounters, yet it did not happen, because football isnt fair.
Atletico also "deserved" something more than to get knocked out every single time we meet them, Juventus didnt "deserve" that penalty against them last year.

Yes, im well aware that we didnt "deserve" all of our CL victories, but we won them anyways.
All of this just goes to show that justice does not exist in football, and thats just how it is and will continue to be.

Yeah. Especially when it involves referee decisions, Real will remain beyond justice

I wouldn't say this is the worst scenario. It would be glorious if Ajax beats Real.

Wonderful to win in the fashion that RM has won most of their CL's throughout their history in. Un Barça "a la Madrileña". This "style" of play might be one of Valverde's biggest legacies in hindsight. If we could just transform that to the CL, we would win that trophy without a doubt.:worthy:

Yeah, question is who has been benefiting the most from the injustice.
