As crap as he is now for so long there is no alternative to mach his shit offensive play atm. Montoya is a wreck when attacking and Douglas is simply a zero.

Montoya does what a RB should do. What he never gets though is enough time on the pitch to improve his skills.
Dani is way better technically but that does not mean anything because he almost never uses his superior dribbling or passing to influence the attack in an useful way.

Montoya does not force the issue, if there is no good option on his side. He plays it safe and tries to involve the CM or attacking player besides him or passes it back to the CB which is fine.
What we see from Alves right now are bad crosses or dangerous dribblings which lead to counters.

I am not gonna start to talk about defense. I do not see anything that Dani offers there anymore. Pressing is bad, pressing angles are bad, 1vs1 is bad and defending his man on set pieces is bad.

This guy always fails hard if he doesn't pass to Messi. That's the only thing he still does well.

So do we play Adriano, Douglas, or Montoya?

Montoya is the only of the three who would be at least competent, but he's also the least likely to start, because Lucho.

He should start Douglas. Would be a great way to finish off his Barca career.
