American soccer announcers are sooooooo bad. "The second star will be coming to the blue half of ***INTER***!!!!!" Yeah, dude, "Inter" is not the city, you screaming ignoramus. :shakeshead: 😆

    Mavericky Puig

Classy smart goal today by Puig. Most players would have just slammed the ball into the defenders. Very clever control and turn. Whatever his faults, this is why Barca fans loved watching him play. He's entertaining. Dunno, maybe there's no place for him in the modern European game, but I'd...

La Liga Round 31: Real - Barca 3-2

I like Cancelo but that was shit defending for the goal. Unmarked free shot.

La Liga Round 31: Real - Barca 3-2

There ya go. Play with some fuckin pace and sharpness.

La Liga Round 31: Real - Barca 3-2

There you, Fermin has the right idea. Just put the ball through for Yamal and he'll get there. Don't fuckin' possess ad nauseam.

La Liga Round 31: Real - Barca 3-2

Especially with the huge spaces Madrid is leaving. There's an attack available every possession.

La Liga Round 31: Real - Barca 3-2

That loss of possession there at the end of the half is so typical of this Barca. Just slow non-decisive play with no focus or intent.

La Liga Round 31: Real - Barca 3-2

If Lamal had dragged a foot like Vasquez, he would have won a penalty.

CL Quarter Final: Barca - PSG 1-4

Though Araujo made a bad mistake, the soft pass that was intercepted and which led to the opportunity was the real issue (Gundogan?). To be honest, I was just waiting for it to happen; Barca was playing far too sloppy with players dwelling on the ball and allowing outlets to be closed down. It...

    Mavericky Puig

Yep, saw the game, that through ball was gorgeous. But one of the reasons you don't see that Xavi-esque carpet through ball much anymore in Europe is because the defenses are much more solid. MLS defenses leave laughably huge gaps and a player with Puig's vision will exploit them. Once teams...

    Phil Foden

You can't teach that goal-scoring instinct. Other skills, yes, but not that ability to put nearly every shot on target. And when he misses, it's not by much.

    Pedro Rodriguez

Old interview with Xavi: "Pedro’s story is exceptional: a Barcelona forward, raised in the academy, gets to the very top and wins everything. You have to look at him, applaud him and say, 'Kids, learn from him!'"

    Mavericky Puig

Some filthy reverse passes today. One goal called offsides, but the next was an assist.

    Mavericky Puig

That's pretty damn funny. Especially given Messi himself is not tops at taking penalties (although excellent with his free kicks).

    Mavericky Puig

Galaxy still has some boneheaded players but overall have been playing much better football this season. Which means Puig will have more impact. He's always had a better eye for goal and better finishing than most Barca/La Masia midfielders.

    Diego Simeone

Regardless of W/D/L record, my recollection is that these games (along with Athletic Club) are generally among the toughest games for Barca each season. No matter the scoreline, they are always grueling physical trench warfare, never walks in the park.

La Liga Round 28: Atletico - Barca 0-3

FdJ and Pedri are both brakes. They can help control a game but they slow down the offense. But something else happened as well. Passing and movement is suddenly a lot quicker and sharper than any time in the past few years. That seems to be a tactical shift.

La Liga Round 28: Atletico - Barca 0-3

Y Yep. I never expected him to be that kind of coach. It's bizarre. Not everyone has to be a Jurgen Klopp, but this is like a bad parent coach for kids. One of the most intelligent players ever to play the game, with huge respect, and he just throws it all away.

La Liga Round 28: Atletico - Barca 0-3

GREAT move by Gundogan, Lewandowski, and Felix. Yep. And faster passing.

CL Round of 16: Barca - Napoli 3-1

Some of the best technical football Barca has put together this season. Lots of precise passing, great first touches, good movement. where the hell has this Barca been all season?
