Camp Nou

The only downside are the 2 vip rings that break the simetry of the older CN and moves the seats a bit higher. I would have preferred a different solution but that would have been very expensive.
Yes, but there was no other way if they wanted 2 rings, bacause they couldn't touch the first two stands as they are part of the original stadium. In fact we're very lucky that the third stand was built later and stood on his own fundament. Like an additional building. That's why Barca was able to destroy it and rebuild it in the first place. Pretty sure no other club in the world could be rebuilding their stadium like we do, since I don't know any other where the last stand isn't part of the original fundament.
That's why Madrid simply covered the old structure with a curtain, while we'll have more than half a stadium brand new building.

As I said the Camp Nou is much more modern than Bernabeu.
The 360 led is inferior on Bernabeu and projects only on 4 small pannels.

3 big pannels is better and the light polution on our eyes will be less damaging.
The pitch can be covered too in the future.

Terraces vs the iron curtain is way superior .
The only plus the Bernabeu has is the retractable pitch. But considering how ugly the grass looks it's clear that we should wait another 10-15 years before considering that technology.
It looks like a poor maintained field from some tropical country like India or Brazil.
I prefer old camp nou to the new one

Partially opened roof is a non-issue considering the climate in Barcelona. I hope they get the exterior right and those open terraces look spot on. That is very important. The inside is bound to be impressive based on the huge size of the thing.

The roof also is key. I hope it is going to be more solid metal involved than in the sims, which show a super-light structure mostly built by hundreds of cables and some type of membrane. That's nice and completely functional as far as comfort and protection from the rain is involved, but it limits you a lot if you want to expand it in the future. Those tension cables only support a low amount of weight.

But there is no need to expand it? I mean Why? The Spanish culture is a bit too superficial like the natives who were into glass marbles. The 3 pannels are enough for replays. Comercial logos you can add on the LED rings, you can have 5 led rings for that who are for public and TV. You can also play comercials on the 3 pannels. I don't know what to expand on.
Bernabeu looks like hot shit.

Which is why all Madrid fans have a need to justify it.

The grass is having multiple issues because it has to go underground.

You guys have 4 large screens connected by basically billboards, tried to do what the Americans did,but cheaped out in the end.
I don't know if is final but so much money and hype for a billboard is insane. And is just for 60 000 people since cameras tend to follow the game.
I don't watch American football so I don't understand what's their excuse but I don't get it? Glass marbles for shalow people?

For me the bling is not very important, I want a roof and clean stands, good infrastructure.
I was very surprised by the terraces and that they refused to go with first hideous project, a copy of yhe Bayern egg shell.

So a huge thanks to the Japanese arhitects and probably the few good things of the Bartomeu era.
The colors, blings can change with time. The biggest flaw of Bernabeu is that Perez invested little in the structure and much more on the facade. You can't change that since is so expensive.
At Camp Nou you can literally envelope all in a glass dome, you can change the lamels, tarp, lighting. Bernabeu will always be a metal box if they don't spend another 2 billions. And now imagine you have structural problems, you need to work it out under that metal cover (support the cover while building a new stand). You want to expand, you need to dig in at best( trow away the toomb pitch) or to trow the expensive stainless.

All new American stadiums have some form of a 360 degree screen now.

Sofi
Allegiant
At&T
New clippers arena

The list goes on, but those are truly immersive and also distracting to an extent.

What Madrid has done is basically copy those but go the poor man's route.

I'm not even saying this because I'm a Barcelona fan, but the stadium is something only a Madrid fan could love

The exterior looks like a toilet, if you're watching on TV bar the new screen, it looks identical to the old stadium.

1.5b for what? A retractable pitch, roof, screen and some aluminum on the outside?.

The convertible nature of It,helps to host events, but Barcelona will have the basketball arena to host smaller events that needs to be in doors.

The 360 screen on So-Fi is fantastic.
Besides you don't need to show the actual game on it. Show scores, or the occasional highlights or other shit I guess that's not ads and not distracting. Maybe not make it as massive as So-Fi's either.

If it's done properly it's better than having three separate screens.

IF it's done properly that is. Besides these days everyone have something that's even more distracting in their pockets you can pick up anytime to scroll on.

But what is the added value if you don't play the game? You want to atract tourists with the hype? This might be it for US since their clubs have no comunity they are just logos changing hosts and they play outside of cities like in malls. I don't know, if I wanted to get immersed i will go to a cinema.
I will understand if you use it at night for a club. Lets say you hold 10 000 people parties and you play the music clips or some fantasy.

Yea the sofi screens are sick, all those mentioned look great in there own way.

Unrelated But that's why I'm surprised AT&T stadium or sofi didn't get the WC final, they look fantastic on TV, compared to met life which I travel pass on a weekly and looks like hot shit.

But the NY public transit factor was probably the deciding factor.

Added value is concerts in the summer, NFL games, rugby games, basically other events that will drive up income and make use of the stadium. You can use the video board for different things/various info when you hold such events even if you don't use it for our games.

It's not going to be just a football stadium for Barca in the future. They're going to use it to hold other type of events.

Don't need it to attract tourists considering the locals do a great job selling their tickets to tourists anyway for a half-assed atmosphere 50% of the time.

FIFA pretty much said it's NY public transit, airports, hotels all nearby or easily available.

Because MetLife Stadium otherwise is dogshit.
