I don't give a fuck about whether Xavi is obessed with keeping Eric Garcia or not, and the overwhelming reports/rumors claims he really want to keep him, they should sell him and tell him to kick rocks.
You’re supporting the wrong club if you think homegrown Catalan talents much less a leader like Eric should be kicked to the curb

Are we going to keep the same energy for Sergi Roberto then?

Eric is not good enough.

Besides it’s not like he didn’t leave the club at the first chance he saw fit as a 16 year old.

Sergi Roberto is hardly the same case considering his age and depth in midfield. Eric is at the beginning of his career and far too early to write Eric off, his success at Girona & City suggests he’s absolutely good enough

He also left during Bartomeu’s era and then did everything in his power to ensure a move back once Bartomeu was forced out ahead of the election - respect

Eric success in City? Man was a walking disaster there, most of their fans couldn't wait until he leaves.
And he is 23, sure fairly young but hardly a prospect.

I'd have Araujo, Cubarsi, Christensen and Kounde ahead of him as a CB, and we have Faye coming through as well.

Eric is not good enough and was hardly a major success at Man City. Eric staying at Barca and given prominence just means less minutes for Cubarsi and Faye who I believe are far superior talents.

Being a homegrown talent doesn't mean you should be given special preference over better players.

Eric is purely a sales opportunity after this season. Don't let that go to waste by coming back and getting devalued. We know that in pure defence he lacks everything necessary for us and is probably behind current Cubarsi on the defensive side.

I hope given that it was the week leading to the Girona-Barca game, that it was merely pre-match pleasantries by Xavi to a loanee.

I’d have Araujo & Cubarsi as starters, Eric and Christensen as rotations with Faye if he’s not loaned out - all except Faye came at zero cost

Jules should be sold based on fit at CB vs RB and fee/wages which impacts FFP

Being a homegrown player is one thing but being a leader (at every playing category) and Catalan indeed is priority over external acquisitions- always

Moreover, unless he nets > 15M it would be a foolish business decision considering what player brings

And dubious assessments from ‘cules’ when Pep & Girona heap praise on player is regrettably state of myopic fans

Pep heaped praise on Ferran and Gabriel Jesus as well, doesn't mean they're world beaters.

Girona want Romeu back. Eric's CB partner over there is freaking Blind. Them appreciating Eric means very little.

As been said, now is the perfect time to sell Eric. Especially since CB is pretty well covered with both experience and up-and-coming talents. Just another Bartra.

No one claims world beaters but review what Pep said about the Catalan kid from La Masia, not two foreign players who never came through the club

You sell players who add nothing to the club or are fiscal liabilities, that is not the case with Eric. Bartra never reached the level Eric has and Marc had plenty of chances to show his quality, even under Pep

Guardiola, on the other hand, did not want to part with Eric

Again, we are a Catalan club that prioritizes homegrown talent - especially those who do what they can to return through the front door

He’s 23, preposterous takes on the player

When did Garcia ever showed leadership in the first team football? It is the an La Masia old myth.

Pep has praised ton of players, and said a lot of bullshit, and contradict himself all the time. If he is praising foreign players in bs way, then sure as hell he is more biased toward Catalan one. Pep benched him when he showed his weakness.

Bartra was better than Eric, who is athletically limited and has one of the slowest reactions for a CB in recent memory, the kid just follows the ball and has no realisation of attackers movements.

Even guys like Lucho couldn't stick long with him.

We have 6 superior CB in Araujo, Christensen, Cubarsi, Martinez, Kounde and Chadi. With Faye being a bigger talent but he has yet to show it against better teams.

At his best, Eric is 4th option, in our situation if you get 10M+ for him you take it even if you downgrade with your 4th option.

Eric isn't it, having him as a 4th option is just asking for trouble.

Sell him, have cubarsi come off the bench, start Araujo and Kounde/Christensen.

Still leaves us with like 3 CB who are better than Garcia
