It's strange pointing out Mingueza as a player whose career was supposedly killed by Xavi, lol. Yes, we could have kept him around for a few more seasons as a squad player but never had potential for anything more than being a solid player for midtable La liga team which he is now. It's better for him to build his career outside of Barca.

We were very unlucky in that game. On another day would have easily won 3-0.

For me Xavi was a garbage as human from 2013 if not from 2015, but he getting the job from a legend that was scapegoated by Laporta, after Xavi refused to coach Messi and the 8-2 team was a confirmation.
Now as a manager I didn't judged him for his UEL job because the team was absolutely trashed by Laporta even if Xavi had some players recovering from injury.
Getting Ferran for me sealed the deal. Any sane president would have fired him right there.
You can be Pep and Mourinho combined if You can't figure out who you need to win UCL, La Liga etc.
He has some football understanding of tiki-taka and modern football but somehow he missed the esentials like all our plastic fans that got into the cult that tactics are more important than players.

I don't think any of you really understand what makes Xavi a bad manager. The tactical reasons are this:
1: non-existent buildup strategy and patterns- as soon as they are pressed a little bit they start panicking with long balls
2: awful defensive organization. This Barca is an amateur team when defending. They don't have even basic capabilities to defend space and maintain shape. Players always staying too far from their marker always giving space and refusing to ingage in physical duels.
Then we get into the obvious bad mentality, delusion and refusing to accept criticism and failure.
The thing is Xavi is stuck in 2010 when other teams were bad and didn't train to have possession like Barca did so Barcelona always had easy control of the ball. They never faced a team that was good at building up against a press and having high possession so they never had to train to defend against it. Now every team can do that every top team can play the Barca game but they are also more physical and know how to defend.
Xavi is simply deluded and does not understand or refuses to accept the modern football at all.

Unlucky fc. Usually id say games like that happen, but every game that has a high stake under xavi went in the other direction. Some would call that a pattern.
Like someone mentioned earlier, this club stinks a lot if the only guarantee to be competitive and win major throphies needs best player in the world, best coach and best team overall in the moment. That fucking sucks, we were on honeymoon in that period but still even then we managed to get bulliyed against bayern with 7-0 aggregate score when things werent ideal around the club.

Indeed in both 1 and 2
1 is seen in the rigidity Xavi understands formations. There is no movement to unsettle the opposition. He hides behind the individual quality of Yamal, and Dembele before, to do it by themselves.
unsustainable for any team that wants to win consistently
2 is even worse than 1. Xavi has no idea what an OOP structure is. He is still learning ABC, and we have to endure that

What annoys me the most is when i see our players in national teams being part of some brilliant plays, systematic pressure, covering, clever 1-2's.. And yet, you have that much quality in mf and you arent able to connect them to the point when they are suppose to melt they stay so far away from each other in posession that is impossible to build an attack. Its clearly a coaching stuff fault
