Xavi Hernández

Starting dm is Frenkie, who happens to be injured. Xavi signed Romeu right?

Our squad at centre back is more than adequate, most other teams in the world don't have the variation in choices + the quality we have there. Oh and our centre backs have managed to stay mostly injury free, something other squads don't have.

Yes, but our options were heavily restricted by FFP issues. We didn't really sign the players we wanted, but the ones we could afford.

If he really said what is being reported re girona he's crazy for that, they executed way better than us in both games.

Against Madrid in the league I can understand, because we lost those two games in the small details, but both were pretty much 50/50 50/49 at the worst.

But girona in both games executed there game plan perfectly with less talented players, can't make excuses for that.

Options at centre-backs are mediocre. That's why we have to start a 17 year old kid there. Quite obvious. Cubarsi is not some top defender, but he's probably the best we have. Which is saying a lot about our squad.

He's not a DM. He's a CM. Our DM was Busquets, and we didn't replace him. From Busi to Romeu... that's a huge drop off.
Frenkie is a capable enough dm. Romeu was playing well for Girona last year funnily enough.

Nope, we have more choices and quality than most squads in world football, just go and look at other "top" teams squads and you'll see that.

Cubarsi isn't being relied on because of a poor squad, he's a tactical choice by Xavi.

Cubarsi isn't better than all of our CB,we have a very good group of CB, but due to injuries, we can't really have all 4 compete for the starting job at CB.

OK, mate. Let's leave it at that. The manager will have to pay eventually for the poor performances as it happens in football usually (unless you have huge funds to resolve the squad issues), but the problems will reappear with the next manager for sure.

Madrid have 4 CL winners competing for the 2 spots at CB. Militao, Rudiger, Alaba, and Nacho. What are you talking about?

You compare any of these with fecking Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez? Jesus...

I'm just telling you what a top squad actually looks like as far as CB options are concerned.
Yea okay, but not what you said originally.

Saying real has better CBs that us, is totally different from saying cubarsi is our best defender.

Two totally different lines of argument tbh.

I said "best we have", as in best option we have. It's obvious Araujo is the best CB in the team.

PSG options at centre back:

Marquinhos
Kimpembe - injured all season
Skriniar
Beraldo - youngster so doesn't count or something.

Dortmund:

Sule
Hummels - yes he's still playing football
Blank
Sclotterbeck
Papadopoulos

Bayern:

De Ligt
Kim
Upamaguire
Eric Fucking Dier :ROFLMAO:

Arsenal:

Saliba
Garbiel
Kiwior
any more?

Inter Milan:

Bastoni
Acerbi
De Vrij
Bisseck

Yet we're the one with issues at centre back. (y)

I already explained how competition works. Araujo and Kounde are fixed starters, with no pressure from the bench, due to squad problems. We have no right-back except Roberto (fucking lol) if we want to bench Kounde for example.

Often times, it's not the incredibly mentality of the player in question that allows him to keep performing at a good level, but competition from the bench. If he doesn't perform well, he's benched and players hate nothing more than being benched due to poor performances.

At Barcelona, the subpar squad allows these players to be played constantly, because the options from the bench are even worse than their poor version. At Madrid, some CB clowns around you get to choose between 4 CL winners in the squad. You also get to use 80m Tchouameny at CB if you want. That's 5 options who are far better than Cubarsi, or Inigo.
Of course the Madrid players will be CL winners because theyve won it recently... that doesnt automatically make Nacho better than Araujo.

The point is you can sell the expensive overrated players if you think theyre overrated and replace them with better ones.
