I've said it before and I'll say it again now - you seriously overestimate this guy.

In general, Barcelona fans tend to constantly overestimate their young players.

Do you think there are no better players at this age in the academy of other teams? They exist, they just don’t start to play on first team at that age. Here they come out, and then the fans start - oooh, next Maldini!

This is actually a rare occasion that I agree with you.

We are pushing young players too soon, overrating them while adding both physical and mental strain on them, asking them to take a leap of development and then we will wonder why they aren't developing.

Cubarsi is a great passer, but he was always an overrated defender. Very limited in that area atm.

Some comments here are like a train wreck. Horrible, but you can't look away. Imagine judging a 17 year old boy after his first worse games during his very long 2 months professional career.

I am discussing EXCLUSIVELY HIS SKILLS.

In terms of his overall playing qualities, Cubarsi reminds me of Eric Garcia.

Average in terms of all football qualities - monstrously slow, poor in the air, but with an excellent pass. That's all.

Good post. And when you see him defend poorly... the "but he is only 16" come out. Except the club clearly does not have the main objective of developing players. The objective is to compete with likes of Real Madrid.

Even vs Napoli, when he was praised for his performance, he was lucky to not have caused a stupid penalty on Osimhen. If that's given, you can't moan too much about it.

Absolutely right.

If he played a good match - oooooh, he's the next Maldini.
If he plays a bad match - he is only 16 years old.

To avoid such conversations, I propose to evaluate young players solely by their physical and technical skills.

So, let's list the advantages (physical and technical) of Сubarsi as a potential future central defender in the Barcelona system.

Let me start:

1) the ability to make cool and smart passes.

....

Continue.

I like to use Vinicius and Fati as examples. I remember 3.5 - 4 years ago when I said that Vinny was cooler than Fati, everyone here laughed, posted memes with the words - Fati scored more goals in La Liga in 5 matches than Vinny in two years. But I compared them based on the totality of their playing qualities. It was absolutely obvious that Vinny was much cooler than Fati in every skill except the final product. But Barcelona fans were blinded by the goal statistics and saw nothing else. Some time has passed - Vinicius has improved his final product, learned to move competently without the ball, and what do we see? We see one of the best players in the world, if not the best at the moment.

I would much rather keep youth players like him and let them grow than keep "No-apology" Araujo in the team.

Eric Garcia really ppl?

If Garcia ever once came up against Mbappe and Dembele, he would get destroyed.lol

Like I said he's been overplayed and next season he shouldn't be an automatic starter, I think pretty much every one would agree with that/has agreed with that.

But it's not a knock on his obvious talent, he just as some growing to do and we don't need to rush him, when we have Martinez, Christensen, Araujo, Kounde and frankly even Faye and Chadi, because those two are more ready physically for day in day out top flight football.

If we can't sign a new RB next season, keep cancelo, promote Faye and fort

Cancelo. Araujo Kounde balde

For most games, move Kounde to RB and start Christensen/Martinez for the tougher games.

Terrible example since fati injury killed whatever fati could have developed into.

While practically everyone said Vini just needs to Improve his end product to take the next step.

Fati was at best a Kluivert. The same plastics hyped Vitor over Endrick and they will regret.

Yeah , except Fati ended his career with injuries.

Bad example chief.

Don't keep Cancelo, fixed your text.
But we are a circus so I guess football clubs aren't run by some geniuses.

I doubt anyone thinks roque is better than Endrick, Madrid just offered him the mind of money we could not.

We will see if roque is worth the money as the 2nd prize or we should have spent it else where.

He wasn't a baller anyway Vini is some china edition Ronaldinho, but that is more than Yamal, Fati and whatever we have in terms skills.
Yamal has more brains than Vini so I think it can go for a balon d'or with a proper team. Vini is a low iq homo erectus with skills.
