4 - Ronald Araújo

Easy there, Araujo is not Ramos. And Ramos never did such a huge blunder as Araujo in his entire career. There is really no comparison between Ramos and Araujo.

 They had fast wingers until the sending off too and were 2-4 down. They could have turned it around, but we had more options to go to the semis in 11 vs 11 than PSG.
.....man! It beats me how some barca fans reason? What then happened in the El Classico days after when there was no red card but Vasquez was made to look like a prime Messi? I repeat, get fast wingers at both sides of the pitch....this team will be decimated. Poor coaching is trying same thing all the time and expecting different results..a la Xavi.

...PSG would still have won, believe me. All you need to beat this Barcelona team is to put fast wingers on both side of the flanks...and wait for players who become unaware of their defensive zones....finish. Did you listen to Luis Enrique before and after the game? Same thing happened few days after in the el classico match....

Like how they had fast wingers in the first leg and still lost?

Or the 2nd leg with 11 men and went down 2-0?.

...bottom line they are in the semi finals while you are home ripping apart your own player seeking for apologies from him. Imagine the phyrric feeling of accomplishment in abject failure...the state of mind of some delusional barca fans?...lol

Maybe you can come up with a match in CL knockouts where Ramos got sent off after 30 mins or so. Until then... not worth my time on this subject.

Funnily enough a foul remarkably similar to the one Araujo did Vs PSG.

Also, how about Pepe? Should they have sold Pepe for his leg breaking ( if Dani hadn't jumped out of the way ) red card challenge in the Classico CL semi.

One of the biggest games in their history?

The point is a fair one. Calls for him to be sold are ridiculous. Especially given his performance in the tie up to that point, where he was arguably the best player on the park.

So basically your point got shifted on and you got nothing, lol

Too easy, think before typing next time.

Isn't it at the very end of the match?

I'd have no problem if Araujo stopped Barcola in min 86. In fact, I'd give him credit for doing that if it stopped a goal and got red at the end of the game for such an incident.

The difference is one trying to save his team sinking even more at the end of the game.

And one Fucking his team at the start of the game when it was never necessary !!

That's the difference in the IQ when throwing your body for your team can be a master class or a disaster.

Same for Classico's when he was getting his red cards breaking Messi's legs it was when Lionel was fucking 'em up not when they were in control.

Araujo needs a leader in the back to stop being dumb.

The only individual errors I'd classify as bad than Araujo are Karius vs Madrid in 2018, John Terry's knee in the back of Alexis vs Barcelona in 2012. Some get close, like Ulreich blunder vs Madrid, Crouch vs Madrid double yellow in the first 20 mins in 2011, Torres double yellow vs Barca in 2016 in the first half.

Which still suspended him from the second leg which contributed massively to them exiting the competition.

How about Pepe? Who had far more disciplinary issues than Ron has ever had?

How about Chelsea? Should they have sold Terry for that knee in the back of Alexis, when Barca were struggling big time? Maybe we should have sold Messi for his penalty miss in that game as well? I mean, it wasnt the first time he fluffed a big penalty that cost us.

Could literally go on and on. Other fan bases realise that every player has weaknesses and throughout their careers those weaknesses will, on the odd occasion, cost you.

But you just got to remember all the great performances the player did for the club and hope he works on those weaknesses in the future, rather than cutting him completely from the club, which is a hilarious and frankly childish overreaction.

Pepe's tackle is bad, but not as bad as Araujo's. Later in the game also.

The reason for selling Araujo is based on money mostly, and his poor technique which doesn't seem to improve with time, not his blunder. That fact that he doubled down on his error after the game makes me think his football IQ is low also.

The commentary on Araujo here lacks context. Yes, he made a huge mistake, you have to consider his 'sweeper' role in this team where he is regularly making a ridiculous number of last man interventions and stopping clear goals with desperation tackles or recoveries.

The way he plays in this team, he is regularly taking huge risks to clean up mistakes (sometimes his own, but often of others as well) and usually he is very successful at doing that (I think he stopped 2 near-goals in the first leg with last-ditch tackles).

The team will struggle a lot without him there. A lot of the defensive strength is based on Araujo holding the last runner, in spite of his flaws, he is one big reason why counter is ineffective against us in LaLiga.

He came undone here against very good attackers but it doesn't mean he isn't important.

He didn't have any great performances so far, because the PSG 2nd leg was by far the biggest match the club has played in years. Whether he will have them in the future we will see if he stays.
