We should get this two if they aren't too expensive

Different ages, different styles but both better DM than Roberto.
But buying from England might be very expensive.

That Danish agency is killing it.

And it goes to show how prudish we have been in looking at a Busi replacement, considering Christensen has done decent enough.

But back to the Danish Agency (Boutique Transfers). They moved Hjulmand out of Denmark for 2.5m and then onto Sporting Lisbon for 18m. His next move will no doubt be to the EPL or a top Euro club and for big money.

Which begs the question, how can we spend so many years training Barcelona style defensive midfielders, yet not be able to identify outside midfielders who fit the characteristics.

And how is this guy fitting into the Barca style defensive midfielder role? He got nothing in common with that.

Who? I didn't watch the Genoa players clip, but was talking of Hjulmand.

I think Christensen has shown that this idea that the DMC we need is an exact clone of Busi, is vastly overstated.

Both the Genoa player and that Hjulmand lad show the same traits in the Youtube videos. Good agility, tackling and some long rance shots that finish with goals.

What I don't see is evidence of good reading of the game, ball carrying from deep and passing from deep, passing range and versatility, controlling the tempo, ball shielding, getting out of press with ball at feet etc.

I get it that you and the other Busi hater are in awe of any half decent DMC, but those lads are not even close to a Barca type defensive mid. And I'm not even comparing them to Busquets or likes of Rodri.

And Christensen is a bum as DMC. A temporary solution against weak opposition, nothing more.

Well 8-2 with all that reading isn't something out of the realm of any DM. I don't want one DM but two, injuries can happen. Abou the other aspects there is other midfielders to do them. By the way clips are about highlights not about what you seek.

A freak result doesn't dictate a club's transfer strategy.

Whether you like it or not, Barca isn't the club for DMs that are poor/limited on the ball. Last summer everyone was dreaming of an enforcer like Amrabaat. We saw how poor he was on the ball at United.

If a guy's highlight is a last ditch tackle or some longshot then allow me to not be impressed. Either the guys doing highlights are imbeciles or the player doesn't offer much else.

Or the stats say they have the best defensive output and we don't have ani real DM from 2013 hence so many humiliations.

Bet they can do quite fine 3 m passes to our control mid, both look sharp.
Maybr they wouldn't spin or drible like Busquets but Pedri, FDJ etc can do those spins and short dribbles.
Being DM the highlights might be about defense but again you can't compete with the clap-trap Barca DNA.
