Could Victor Font be the man to improve things?

I haven't kept an eye on his career since elections.
Yeah I haven't been following him closely post elections tbh, not sure about you, but I wasn't particularly convinced by him even earlier when he was a front runner.

I've been at a couple of events of his at a couple of different locations - his pitch seemed centered around - 1) he's a 'successful businessman' 2) barca fan 3) from Barcelona

But in terms of actual plans or salient talking points, he never seemed to have anything at all. I mean it's possible that maybe if he got the job he would learn on the job and maybe make some good decisions? Not sure...

But there doesn't seem to be anyone in terms of a loud and meaningful voice that seems to be present to challenge Laporta atm as far as I can tell.. Hypothetically would you take Font over current Laporta if we could magically switch tomorrow? I might, not for Font but for not believing in Laporta.

Font is the only candidate (of the ones we know at least) that can save us from the misery that this clownish president inflicted upon us since 2021

He lost the elections in 2021 precisely because he is not a politician, like the clown, and didn't try to sell dreams of things that everybody knew ain't happening, or talk abstractly in purpose so as to deceive the fans

He had a plan, very clear one, with the right ideas on how to bring Barca board and whole structure in line with the top football institutions that populate every departments of theirs with top professionals. Without detracting from the ideology, tradition, and philosophy, of how we play football at Barca

Now that even blind people have seen what Laporta is all about, and the distance from Madrid widening with every passing year, I hope people will wake up and cast their vote correctly this time

It was Font that was backing Xavi. While I was not on board bringing Xavi, I am not necessarily skeptical of Font due to that, I mean sure maybe he backed the wrong guy(IMO) but that's just one decision. But if his other decisions, plans etc are good and he has his heart in the right place I'd still have been okay with it. But like I said, while I would still vote for him (if I could) rather than Laporta, I've not exactly been blown away by his candidacy.

Dortmund lifting the trophy would be brazy.

The redemption arc for Reus would be :wow:

Would be nice to have an underdog winner in the CL that's not Chelsea. Hasn't happened in a long time.
Stop daydreaming lads, it's Madrid's trophy this year.

Real Madrid fans stopped having a problem with such shitshows since Moutinho took over.
Until then, they had some integrity in them regarding the football they play. They even sacked LL winning coaches like Capello because of the football

Mourinho changed their DNA, and they sucked it up in exchange for titles
That's why the cunt club will NEVER EVER be like Barcelona...
Yeah, they'll probably win a 15th UCL title while we go to YouTube and watch videos of the 2011 team and stay stuck in time

The Galacticos were pretty offensive but not very well coached iirc. It was a free-flowing Harry Redknapp esque system from what I remember. More about vibes than intricate offensive play or any form of micro-management. In a very "lads go out there and express yourselves" manner, they weren't tactically sophisticated.

My point is that yesterday's style of play was unbelievably dogshite and Mourinho's low block counter attacking system at Real was far more fun to watch than yesterday's pile of crap. Yesterday they genuinely played more defensive than Big Sam's Bolton(underrated team btw).

In my personal opinion, Klopp and Wenger's style of play is far more entertaining than the typical Barca or Pep's style. The style Spain NT used in the 2010 WC was horrendous to watch. So boring when they were using ball possession as a defensive mechanism. Gimme Klopp's fast, vertical, counterpressing system anyday.

The 3 managers with the most entertaining and fun style of play:

Klopp(Dortmund, Liverpool)
Wenger(Arsenal)
Bielsa(Leeds).

PS: The streets will never forget Peak Sarriball at Napoli.

Most styles of football has their ups and downs, but i definitely prefer the more end to end football of some of these other coaches, compared to Guardiola's style.

Its a very effective way of winning games, week in week out, i just find it robotic and sort of scripted.

City can definitely play entertaining football at times though, when the near-perfectly crafted game-plan doesn't work, and they have to let loose and go with the flow, the knock-out rounds vs them two years ago was highly entertaining, particulary the first match.

Spain 2010 was definitely the worst one to watch though, though some of that has to do with line-up, was it really neccessary to play two CDMs? Iniesta's magic was about the only thing enjoyable about it, imo.

Was fort the guy that wanted to build the entire club around Xavi or was that someone else?.

Yes. He was also the guy who wanted to sign Eric Garcia from City instead of waiting 6 months for his contract to expire.

At that point in time he sounded a bit naive to be honest.

We could have done much better and won more CLs if not for utterly incompetent presidents and boards ruining the fate of the club in their hands
If Madrid has something over us is certainly a competent president

As for ideology and tradition, it's non-negotiable
If you want wins and trophies in any way, support Juventus Bayern United, and Madrid

What's that noise? It's Di Stefano turning in his grave at the sight of Madrid playing the whole game with 10 players in their box. Just like he did when he was alive and called Mourinho out for it 10 years ago.

Time to get my Vikingos helmet out and dance to " Asi asi, Asi gana Madrid ". 🤭

If we went away and did that sport and Barca forum would be in a rage, shitting on Xavi

As a matter fact City was shittier than Madrid in this game, they simply played bad for their standards against a top tier team which indeed defended on three rows like a an utter small club. This season they didn't win against any big club in PL if I'm not mistaken and this was the case vs. Madrid too. They are no longer the team from last season.
