This is football. Not always the team that dominates the game also wins it. Madrid defended very well. I counted only 3 big chances for City. The goal, the crossbar header by Haaland and the big De Bruyne miss.

A lot of stale possession and side passes with crosses that didn't bring much.

Helps to have a calm manager, it makes the team more calm too, Xavi would have lost his mind at the equalizer and thrown the team into chaos.

EV was stone wall. You need that but you need players too. But anyway De Bruyne had the 2-1 and he failed, it's not like Real didn't collapse after Doku. They did, but they were spared.
