Who would replace him in such a short notice? We need someone who can play with his feet as well, this is barca. Who the hell are we gonna get?

I'm generally shocked, because I don't understand the reason for this. I'm sure it's not about money. Maybe some kind of a personal desire to play in a different league, to try something new. Some people are just like this.

Anyway, for me he's the #1 goalie in Barcelona's history. Until someone proves the opposite.

He has spent most part of last year trying to convince his closer ones that he wanted to live in a different country and know a different culture while he can (don´t see why he couldn`t do that once retired). Finally his family agreed, not happy with Victor´s decision, but agreed. Next step was to let Barça know thru his agent and we are finally here. Barça´s following Valencia´s goalkeeper Guaita.

Barcelona's first option to replace Valdes is Valencia goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. Osasuna's Andres Fernandez is another option. [onda cero]

I hope we will go for De Gea, he simply is the most talented goalkeeper in the world for me, how quick he reacts is simply amazing. All he need is experience. The negative thing is that he dont have any charisma.

Doubt it's a bluff, he explicitly had his agent inform the club no offer was necessary as they were not renewing. If a negotiation tactic, it's pretty heavy handed and no other club player has played it that way.

Furthermore, it is odd considering the sequence of events played out in the media of late between club, player & agent. Is he pissed or has he really been mulling this decision over for some time now?

And even if he has a contract thru '14, no way Rosell et al are going to wait that long for a replacement - something will have to happen soon
