It builds character and is not needed in sports to behave like that.

It didn't happen in this game. He was teatrically outshone by other players. As for the game, he dominated (except for when getting outrun early in the game).

Wow, the fan-girl-esque posts are just way over the top as much as the alleged 'hate' posts.

First of all, he is simple one of the best players, has amazing statistics and everything!, no one is denying that!

But remember, football isn't just watched by Barcelona fans... his behavior builds character and those things decide the reputation of players that are not strikers (or in general). You simply cannot deny that he has a dirty side to his character, and NO I am not referring to the alleged diving, he isn't the diver most people want to make out of him.

It's his crying... it's his smearing cards that makes him unbearable to watch at times, even when I watch Barca games (as a Barca fan) I sometimes have the feeling of 'cool it down', but since I'm a Barca fan it doesn't bother me nor does it irritates me.


But you can't expect him to be praised among the greats which such classes behavior, neutral fans decide a players status, not merely the fans of the club he plays for.

He will be always be praised for his amazing game, and he will always have a big 'BUT' stitched to him, regardless of his achievements (not to mention players in his position aren't that much praised in GENERAL).

It's a shame... no one insulted him on here... but believe me some of the comments made by neutral people around me would DRIVE YOU GUYS CRAZY.

Sergio Busquets does not commit penalties. he does not even foul people. nor does he dive. or try to persuade the referee to card his opponent.

Aye but 97% passing accuracy doesn't equal goals, does it. Someone else still needs to create chances and score them for Spain.

Spain were shit today, passing the ball around in midfield and defence without creating chances and Busquets was the main culprit.

The DM was the main culprit for Spain not being able to creat anything..ok. What about Xavi(who was horrible today), Silva, Iniesta or Torres? What were they doing on the pitch?

It looked like a penalty for me.

I mean gamesmanship is a big part of Busquets game. It's not his fault the ref was an idiot and/or crooked. I mean that's like when people blame Suarez because he conceded a penalty that Ghana screwed up.

Busquets will do what he has to do. And in this case what I saw was an obstruction worthy of a penalty, and Croatia was robbed.

For what it's worth Croatia also had multiple players who could have been sent off all tournament. Busquets was relatively clean compared to some of his teammates and the Croatian team.

You won't hear the crotians admitting that though..meanwhile the spanish are asking for Busi's head.

Yeah, it's not really a secret that play-acting etc is a big part of his game, and if he got rid of that he would be getting so much praise since he an amazing player otherwise. But as long as he keeps diving around he is going to have more critics than fans, that's the reality.

However, a few people are acting like he should be sold based on today which is insane IMO. Do you realize what a loss it would be to our team if we got rid of Busquets? Or Alves, or anyone on our team who has ever done anything "dirty"? Or Xavi, who "complains all the time"? Not everyone is going to be a perfect little angel.
