I was really surprised how good their short passing and first touch technique has become. Way better than current Barcas. And that counter attack goal was absolutely brilliant.

Imagine if they had consistent game time together. They got better with each game. Our Barca is in shambles and needs a hard reset.

Like I said yesterday, overstatement will be the habitus of this forum going forward (if it weren't already)

1) You can't compare NT level, which is low stakes, to club level football

2) Same guys keep talking about this Argentina NT as if being some super-team...
No, they pay meh football, and being fast on a counter has nothing to do with breaking buses via short passing, which is the task Barca has to face at club football
Still a far cry from great NTs like Spain 2010 or Germany 2014, despite being more consistent than all other NTs of this WC

The main difference between elite teams of club level and National level is in the coaching.

France for example, talent wise, is stronger than any club squad there is. But Pep and Klopp, for example, are much better managers than Deschamps and would get more from that squad.

But calling a world cup final low stakes is hilariously bad coping

Goal posts changing from world cup is the holly grail of football to club football is better.
At least Messi has dominated club football during his peak so no problem there too. Haters gonna hate.
But you know what. No one cares anymore. Job done.
Let's go back to enjoying Champaign football with Dembele smashing it in Europa league.

International Football is easier and slower than club Football. That's not coping. Simply because better managers and squads well drilled and training all year round.

It's tougher to get yourself up for a CL final game than a WC in terms of technique and merit. WC is higher pressure and bigger stage but substantially lower quality of Football.

Don't be surprised if Messi flops in the CL knockouts again despite trying to have another last shot at it. It's not the same as WC. Teams like Bayern you don't face in international Football.

Don't know who you are talking about. I for once never claimed WC to be the holy grail, and always said club football is many level above
Probably you don't know either to who you are talking

Field day for all the fanboys to lump together different arguments as 'messi haters'
The state of this forum becoming utterly pathetic

Agree
Plus a coach has time to build something, which is important for all coaches who don't play negative football

Exaggerating and overrating numerous things to suit their agenda but they have the cheek to troll Piers Morgan. Some of these lads are literally Piers Morgan without the fame.

Can't even celebrate something special without making it a caricature smh.

If you are not touched by this comment why do you reply? We have a saying in Greece about such behavior.

You know when Messi joined PSG I said 'finally, these people will stop making toxic every thread here'

But No
what happened is their toxicity just migrated threads: from discussion of how Barca should play to discussions about the GOAT, about how well PSG (FFS!) does in CL, and recently about Argentina's chances of winning trophies

The level of this forum is about 10 times below than what it was in 2011 just because of this fanboy toxicity
