Clément Lenglet (loaned to Aston Villa)

Can't we simply pay him the difference in wages as a bonus and then send him on his way? Spurs have some penalties they need to concede, we wouldn't want them missing out.

Flying to London to sign with Spurs on loan.

To be honest, played well in our best spell under K4 as the LCB in a back 3. Can see him being a relative success for Conte.

No doubt one we could transfer if his wages weren't in oblivion.

But fair play for wanting to go and get some game time.

He could make a comeback, if he can fix himself mentally. He is not good for team who's playing highline. Too slow. Tottenham likes to counter, especially vs good teams. Not a bad choice imo.

Clement Lenglet has to give the final 'ok' for his Tottenham loan move to be completed today. They will have the option to purchase him for more than €10m at the end of the season.— @sport

This non-obligatory buy options are stupid imo. If he'll suck we'll get him back if he does well, 10m+ isn't much. Hopefully they'll at least pay big part of his wages and we'll also get a loan fee (not seen it reported anywhere though).

Those options are not stupid. They most likely push deal over the line.

The club are in impossible situation with Lenglet on that much money and a contract like FDJ that will most likely be heavily structured to receive more in coming seasons due to covid and 'deferring' salary.

The club cant do much more and just want him off books with as little fuss as possible.

Folk a few months ago thinking Barca would get 15/20m for him were in fantasy land. No club is paying that for him regardless of wages he is on now.

10M is his amortization tbf, basically it is just incentivizing Spurs to buy him if he just does okish

Spot on. The lad can play decently for a while. Hopefully they buy him before he can unleash his full blunder potential.

However, PL is fast league and he is a snail...

They'll pay the 10M. Gomes or Digne have looked good in their first EPL season. Lenglet will do even better, as Conte plays 3 at the back.
