Mavericky Puig

Doesn?t make sense why he?s not getting more play time?

Because Koeman thought: let's field the same, tired, lineup that got dismantled by PSG midweek to prove it was just a bad moment. Puig brings life to this team every time he plays. If his level is not old Barca level, who gives a shit?

Puig should have started today as he should've started tuesday and many times before
But the team played very well until Koeman started to make switches (biggest impact being Busquets going out)
Obviously, the attacking players weren't playing great, a winger-winger sub would make a lot of sense, and Puig would always improve the team.
But subbing your only defensive mid, changing system, just making a lot of changes in general, is just asking for problems.

Because he is even more shit than the those who have started? I know people need some hope but he is not the answer.

Same shit as with alena before who cant even compete at betis and getafe. Loan him out and he will end up the same.

Reality is that no matter how shit our starting squad is those on the bench are even worse.

This, accept the reality that the youngsters are not really that good. Put them in another low tier team they will not excell

3 years ago, some (youth and La Masia obssessed) users even suggested that we don't need to buy new midfielders because we are set for the next 15 years with Arthur, Alena, Puig and baby Busquets (Oriol).

From today's perspective, that is not even an Uefa cup level, but 12th, 15th or 18th placed La liga level.

Our oldies suck, but whenever we got rid of them, new guys were even worse: Suarez, Vidal, Rakitic for now.
Traded for Griezz, Braithwaite, Pjanic, Pedri, Puig.

Except pedri and Puig who are better than vidal and Rakitic and were already in the team.
Griezmann who didn't replace Suarez, as they coexisted, as did braith.
We made 2 direct replacements.
Dest for Semedo, which is an upgrade.
Pjanic for Rakitic, which is the same shit, different day.
Who also got back Coutinho, which went well.
So, what are those "new" youngsters that "don't have the required level".

In which universe are Pedri and especially Puig better than Rakitic, who played in a World cup final, won Uefa cup with Seville as a key player, was the most used player at Barca over 5 seasons and scored a goal in a CL final.

Delusion and insane bias towards young players is a perfect example what is wrong with internet and hype today.

Raki played 14 000 minutes for us in La liga and around 4 300 minutes in a CL.

Or Vidal with 2 Copa Americas and playing for Bayern, Juve, Barca, Inter.

Riki's career in 10 years will look like this:
Barcelona, Getafe, Girona, Hospitalet, Israeli/Cyprus 1st division.

i don't think that he was comparing their achievements. but i do agree that overall even pedri isn't better right now than what rakitic/vidal were last season.

it's just that he is young and people are waiting for a iniesta replacement. the signs are positive with him, will just have to wait and see if he will be better than vidal/rakitic.

puig is a bum, don't even need to discuss the subject.

Good, because nobody said Pedri and Rakitic have a better career at 18-20 years old than Rakitic at 32.

Rakitic after covid last season was really good. Pedri has played really well, beyond all of expections from beginning.

I didn't say too much about Pedri.
He has some talent.

I find it funny putting players like Vidal&Rakitic in the same sentence or article as Puig.

Not aged 18, 22 or 32.

It would be the biggest surprise in the history of football if Puig with his skills manages to reach 20% of career achievements of Vidal and Rakitic.

Pedri, everything is possible, but odds are always against him based on history and stats of failures over the last 20 years.

** Look at what JohnN wrote in his original post.

Loaning Puig would kill him immediately, like Alena or any La Masia midfielders in recent years. Can not make mazy run, barely score or assist, no physique, no defending skill, not versatile. He is only good at making quick pass. He also understands Barca midfield movement. That's all.
Don't know why Masia still teach players to be so one dimensional footballer. It seems that they don't even care for player's physicality.
Laporta (or someone else) needs to change La Masia.

Can't defend, score and don't have physique.

As if they only learn two things in their La Masia career:
1. Move, move, move, open yourself for the pass
2. Recive the ball and pass it

And repeat 1000 times.

Pig in the middle academy.

Don't worry much about it. Puig will never manage to have the number of goals+assists like Rakitic did in 2013/14 wit sevilla (11 goals and 10 assists in Liga) or 2014/15 with Barca ( 5 goals and 7 assists). Or even become a key player in a world cup runner up team.
Or ever help his national team win two major tittles like Vidal did in 2015-2016 with Chile.
Not even sure if Spain national team knows about. him. They are very interested in Pedri though.
