I don't need to read articles to know about Argentinian football! lol 1986 team mostly Maradona +10, his teammates became well known after the world cup (such as Burruchaga), only Valdano was known and he retired from football a year after the WC. I have seen 1986 world cup maybe 50 times! You are just ignorant about football.
Typical comment about Maradona's world cup you can find anywhere. It is true that Maradona 1986 is the best international performance in history, no one deny it but his teammates also played very well.
Messi also had great world cup performance, not as good as Maradona surely. His teammates also not as good as Maradona's 1986 teammates though their defense were solid. Plus they also faced a stronger Germany in 2014 final.
So saying Messi can not touch Maradona at NT level is wrong. You are talking about Argentina top scorer, world cup and copa america MVP and he has carried this poor team for years.

I really wonder what happen to the players when they put the argentinia jersey on. Its like they suddenly forget to plsy football, probably because of the high pressure. Even Di Maria and Dybala looked like headless chicken in the past years. Well atleast they played very good in 2019 Copa America, if they can find that level back, they havea good chance to win it. Today we saw why Messi is Messi, the only one who could control the ball even in these conditions.
