MATS led to a lot of those efforts with his world cup passes out from the back.

It was such an obvious tatic that he would do it that Bayern set traps to make him make those passes and he fell into it evry time.

He should have been hammering ball up park and pointing finger at the defenders deferring ball to him.

Ter stegen is one of those goalies where he will do about 5 miracle saves a season and let you down when it really matters. To make things worse he actually thinks he's prime pirlo or something

Only team in elite world football who rolls the ball all the way back from midfield (sometimes further) to stegen at the slightest pressing, then the 2 CB circle stegen from both sides, with strikers near them. Truly pussies is what we have become as team. This is not playing from the back.. This is playing IN the back.

That's the misconception. He doesn't think himself anything. He is our playmaker lmao! Players pass the ball to him all the time to hide of their responsability as field players. No field players in elite europeen football pass the ball to their goalkeepers as much as barca field players. Truly cowardly attitude.

I've been saying for the last 3 years this guy is the goalkeeper equivalent of Suarez.

-Has a few nice saves in Liga to rescue Barca in some games. Much like Saurez scores a few bangers in Liga to save Barca in a few games
-Both are absolute garbage in the CL
-Both capitulate when put under pressure
-Both are super arrogant and severely over-estimate their abilities and think they are the best in the world in their position

Suarez has been called trash in the CL (rightfully so) by Barca fans for the last 3 years...yet somehow MAtS has earned the reputation of "best GK" in the world and people mock Germany for choosing Neuer of this clown.

MAtS has never been close to the goalkeeper in the world...Over his five years at Barca the likes of Navas, Allison, Oblak and Neuer have held that crown...and MAtS has been absolutely a million miles away from that level.

Even currently a 33 year old Navas and 34 year old Neuer are far FAR ahead of him.

This guy has the most delusional hype I have ever seen from the Barca fanbase. Yes even more than someone like Bojan or Halilovic.

I mean, despite everything he is way better than Victor Valdez. And we had the best team in the world with Valdez in the goals. GK position is the least one we need changes now.

Despite everything, in a team where we need a new starting LB, RB, CB, CF, arguably a LW and probably another CDM/CM - The GK position the least of our concerns right now.

Let?s be honest if the team didn?t allow 20+ chances then we wouldn?t even be discussing if mats is good enough or not. No keeper deals with that many chances and comes out looking good. Anfield he was trash though

He is partly to blame for those 28 shots Barca conceded though. Look how many times he held for the ball too long only to give a garbage pass that led to a Bayern attack. It was like having Rakitic in the goal. As a few people already said here , it's now quite clear (And some here already realized it before) that there is a massive difference in his performancs in La liga compared to the CL
