Arthur wanted to stay, we wanted him gone. we forced his exit and it was pretty shitty of Barca to use Setien to talk shit about the player

Rakitic is a leech and wants to stay, we wanted him gone. yet he'll still be here next season.. why won't the board do the same approach?

yeah i know its about balancing the books but its sickening to see a player who atleast has age on his side being forced to leave whilst these washed up players continue to drag our club down and the board show them respect

Raki wanted to stay but he was willing to listen to offers, Barca could not find one that satisfies them. That is why he stayed.

With Arthur we had a deal we wanted, that would also improve his earnings significantly while signing a longer deal.

If Raki had such an offer he would have been gone by now.

No one has the moral high ground in this case, but Barca have the legal one. He should have returned to training. He is still getting paid millions to train with us. Top earning footballers are like spoilt children.

Bartomeu must be thrilled with his behaviour, genuinely. Because now it allows him to save money on Arthur's wages.

Every little helps when the goal is Lautaro :bartomeu:

Rakitic said its either staying in Barca or back to Sevilla. Nothing else interests him. He said if Barca don?t want him anymore he is willing to sign a contract breakup so he can go to Sevilla next season without fee (since they refuse/cant pay one).

I don't remember he ever said that, would you present a link?
And is there is any news that Rakitic has blocked any agreed deal for him? I don't remember a single one.
Sure, he prefers Sevilla but he has listened to offers from Juve and recently rumored to welcome offers from MLS too.

"However, Rakitic said earlier that he does not want to leave and his attitude has not changed a single millimeter. If Barcelona does not want him in the team, then Rakitic only agrees to terminate his contract in order to return to Seville without compensation," writes Mundo Deportivo.

Ok, this isn't something we get from his mouth at all. He surely talks about his love to Barca etc since he is staying here.
But since last summer we had so many of this articles / news, and one thing remains fact: We never had an agreement or any deal for Rakitic that he put a veto for it.

PSG was willing to offer close to 90m in 2018 for Rakitic, but the board decided not to negotiate for him because he was 'untouchable' (sic).
Rakitic was 30 yrs old in 2018, and was in steady decline since 2016. A good World Cup was enough to fool people into believing he still has sth in him.
You don't need much brains to realize that it was for the benefit of the club to sell him back then and look for younger mid (which they eventually looked: Arthur and 6 month later De Jong was signed).
You don't need any brains either to realize that you never gonna get again a significant offer for someone only climbing the 30s ladder.

So Rakitic would never have had such an offer after 2018. getting even 20m for him now is wishful thinking.

You really believe PSG was offering 90 M for Rakitic ? Haha.
PSG was still under FFP investigation and had to sell players to avoid a sanction but sure, PSG would have made Rakitic its 3rd highest transfer of all time behind Neymar and Mbapp?.

It was confirmed by reliable journalists back then. And of course PSG don't give a damn about FFP. They have broken FFP time and time again. Kelayfi is controlling UEFA now and feels untouchable.
Negotiations never started because the relationships between the two clubs are broken after Neymar.

If I say I am shocked, I will be lying.
It's safe to say that this board consists in a bunch of clowns, jokers, and criminals (in the broad sense of the term). #BartomeOUT
