Yeah Rakitic is on like 250,000 a week. Sevilla can’t offer anything near that, their highest is Banega on 125,000 and Nolito was on 130,000 before he left for Celta. Banega leaving too at end of this season, maybe they’re getting rid of two biggest wages for the return of Rakitic! jokes aside he’ll see out his contract here on wages like that. Remember he wanted an increase too lol

I can definitely see Vidal leaving for Boca Juniors or some other South American club. Midfield options of Pjanic,Busi,FDJ,Puig,Rakitic,Alena most likely in my opinion for next season.

I think he's faster and also better in the air despite being smaller.
Not a different profile though. Have not seen enough of him, but I would rather give Araujo the chance instead. We need someone like Monaco's Beno?t Badiashile, Zagadou or Konate alongside CL. I rate CL and I appreciate his professionalism, he is a good player.

If Sevilla put him on a long enough contract they would get him to sign it I think and would pay him more than current players if getting him for free.

If Rakitic was left with option of one year at Barca where wont play then be older when leaves v 3/4 year contract on less money where he plays next season he would go for that most likely.

The guy is such a fucking parasite lol. He thinks that because he was favored heavily by EV that he's one of the actual heavyweights in the dressing room and a legend or some shit.

Even RM didn't bend to Ronaldo for increased wages, but this guy Rakitic actually thinks he's entitled for that? Obviously, it's in his best interests on a personal level to negotiate like that but holy shit how has the club let him walk all over them like that despite being a tin can of a footballer for the past 2-3 years.

They've made horrible deals with so many players and are getting held hostage by them. Umtiti/Dembele/Rakitic and the likes are literally unsellable just because they decide "I don't want to be sold so I won't be", and the club actually folds and lets them do that while maintaining their role in the squad. Insane.

Vidal is made for China. He is like some cartoon character with his style but he has turned that down before.

Interesting how no current or former Barca player has liked the Instagram post announcing we're signing him.

28 year old eriksen for 20m: barto sleeps
30 year old pjanic for 60m: real shit :bartomeu:

Eriksen is more a number 10 or even a wide player that takes risks and gets ball into box and shoots as much as possible.

Coutinho was a better player than him in EPL and both would have faced similar problems in this old Barca.

At least Pjanic is a CM although never worth the money in the inflated deal.

I’m not sure. Because he’s probably thinking he can run out his contract here and still move to Sevilla for free after that. Not sure how different the contract offer from Sevilla would be if he was leaving for free next season compared to the scenario you said.

He would be in a stronger position to get a better salaried deal this summer than next though as a year younger.

While he is one bad injury away from being in very poor position next summer.

If Barca let him go for free he would head there I think. Will have to wait and see.

That is ignoring the football side where he may not want to barely play a season at this age.

Rakitic is actually paid more than Pique, was surprised. No wonder he’s the way he is.

I like Lenglet too. I think those players you've mentioned are more seemed as longterm replacements for Pique (but they probably couldn't play in pair with him) who will remain a starter until his contract expires in 2022 (I could see him retire after that).

Next year we could bring back Eric Garcia to groom him behind Pique (or who knows, maybe even Araujo could develop into his longterm replacement but I doubt) for one year before taking over but if we'll bring a new CB this summer (this mostly depends on if we'll manage to offload Umtiti which I don't really have high hopes for) it will be someone to compete with Lenglet rather than a Pique successor and Kounde is imo an interesting option we should consider here. Obviously depending on his and other potential targets prices.

There were reports we'll be looking for a left-sided CB (I hope we won't focus on left-footed ones because this would clearly limit our options). Kounde is right-footed but he has played as a LCB as well. He was also used as LB and RB for Sevilla. Not much but he did quite well there from what I've seen and this could be useful if we'll sell Semedo or Firpo.

I like versatility in young squad players because it gives them more chances to get playing time and if we could get Kounde for let's say Raki (his market value is around 15m but we want to offload him so he's not worth as much to us) and Todibo (20m, we could also include a buy-back) and let's say 15m in money so a total value for Kounde's transfer would be around 50m (they've bought him for 25m just a year ago and his clause is 70m IIRC) I would seriously consider that option. The problem is I don't think Sevilla would accept. Monchi will probably prefer to keep Kounde for another season especially with Diego Carlos possibly leaving to EPL or if he would sell he'd want 50-60m in money so he can buy 3-4 new players.

While they'll look for Banega's replacement I don't think Monchi is desperate for Raki's return (it's more Raki's preference to return to Sevilla if/when he leaves us than the other way) and he can find younger and cheaper midfielders. He was interested in Todibo in the past but he can also find similar talent level CBs and actually get players who want to sign for Sevilla which is very doubtful in Todibo's case.

I know my proposed swap is almost impossible to happen but Kounde is their only first team player I would consider if we'll want to include Raki in some kind of a swap deal with Sevilla. I like Ocampos and Joan Jordan as well but don't think they are good enough. And swapping Raki for one of their youth players who are a longshot to ever make it to our first team is far from a good deal as well.

Well, maybe we should just swap Raki for Monchi. Or at least his list of cheap transfer targets for this summer and try to buy a few of those instead of spending 100m on Lautaro.
