Sociedad targetted the Barca all right as they knew Messi would not track back.

Easy to say the team should be set up to cover it as know he wont track back but it fucks the balance of midfield to do that.

Messi really needs to turn it up soon.

His goal ratio is set perfect in terms of it not being to good right now. I would say there should be a few goals to come. lets hope like the above post, they come at the important times.

It's wild that people are depending on a guy that in his thirties, slowing down and playing with an injury. I don't think some criticisms are warranted towards Messi. You expect him to walk more often or stay stationary in some areas. You have to adapt for it.

Messi brings a lot and takes a lot.

He gets every ball of our attack, he destroys Barca player around him.
He does not play defence and he is on the pitch where he wants to be so that puts players from their positions.

Adapting to it is easier said than done.

Try competing at top when midfield have to adapt to a player that cant/wont track back and adapt to the lack of options from players running off ball etc.

Messi when ball in his area is best ever but off the ball he is Barcas biggest weakness in terms of attacking/defending as a unit.

Sociedad targetted RB all night and Barca were lucky they did not get more joy from it.
