We are making us worse than we are. Noone looks really impressive, if we can dominate the midfield (we have the players for that) and have an inspired Messi anything is possible.

There is a ton of teams that will relish playing a slow Barca midfield that thinks they can dominate on ball.

Will hit on break with pace for fun.

Barca dont have the workrate or pace to take top teams on like that.

Which top teams exactly? Dont get me wrong, I dont expect anything, but we have roughly the same chance as most other teams out there (if Liverpool gets beaten).

Liverpool, PSG, City, Bayern, even likes of Dortmund.

Those teams would love Barca to think they can dominate on ball and wait for right times to pick them off.

It is horrific watching a Busi DM, PIque/Lenglet defensive triangle trying to defend teams breaking at pace. Against far worse teams than those.

Klopp with his classic conference after he's been outplayed with back-handed remarks about 'teams that play for 0-0 and that's it, we have to take it'

Nah, I'd say that if everybody was fit.

Actually, the first step is dropping Busquets and shifting FDJ to that role. FDJ, Arthur, Vidal/Raki is a solid CL midfield. Press resistant, somewhat dynamic, young and with legs.

Defense can be a worry but Pique has the ability to play up to occasion. Alba, Pique, Lenglet, Semedo is a decent defense. On the softer side but not a total trainwreck either.

Attack is where my concerns are. Suarez despite his lack of production in CL is a big miss. Messi's shooting form is also concerning. Here, we need Griezo to really step it up and for Fati to play 2-3 years ahead of the curve.

But look at our competition. RM have an aging Benz, injured/off-form Hazard, and Bale in attack. Juve have Dybala and CR7 but a terrible midfield/fullbacks. PSG's midfield and defense is a shambles and they're going out R of 16 anyways. City has a back 4 of clowns. Dinosaur DM and crap attack.

They'll advance at home, they have an away goal and Dortmund are brainless scrubs who never calculate what's best for them in knockouts.

Then Jair Ventura will enter the forum again in his shining armor on a white stallion :p

True. This is pretty decent result for PSG

Liverpool, PSG, City, Bayern, even likes of Dortmund.

None of those teams are impressive (bar Liverpool, who could get Simeone'd). I would give us a 50/50 chance against all of them:
PSG: is just shocking - no need to be afraid.
City: they lack defesive stability as much as we do.
Bayern: shit season as well.
Dortmund: we looked a class apart at Camp nou, 50/50 probably.

I dont want to be this overly optimistic guy, but the quality this season is bad. Even with our shit squad planning theres a chance.

I would replace Fati in CL to be honest. Use him as an impact sub, in a way that puts less pressure on him.

If Firpo plays well while he is injured could quite easily see Alba on LW in some.

Particularly if were to go through in CL and meet Liverpool etc.

We will see. All of those teams will fancy playing a Barca in possession and are better sides than currently banging in goals past Barca week in week out.

These teams are actually better at capitalising on chances better than us. We dont have Suarez. Messi suffers from a lack of 9 or threat in the box.

We have always been "favourites" but will be knocked out some way or another. Against us, even the average teams are gonna look impressive.
