We need new winger because Dembele is always injured. Neymar is a more central player these days, not winger, so he is not going to help anything. Lautaro as a striker makes sense.

We need a LW. The options are few. Mané is not available, Sancho's fit is questionable and would probably cost as much as Dembele and then you have Neymar.

The thing is we have plenty of other positions we need to reinforce. Even for a very optimistic 170ME pricetag we would be crippled regarding other transfers.

Just getting Neymar is the easiest way out, thats for sure.

I was against signing him initially too, but not now. We've got our young potential signing in Trincao and have Ansu and Konrad de la Fuente in the wings too. We need a top class/world class winger and I see no better option than Neymar.

Neymar is the only player who is a true difference maker out of all the players that we could sign. Can create for himself and others, has proven himself to be capable of performing in big games.

And most importantly: He is a goalscorer. We need more goalscorers.

The Griezmann transfer really f**** us. Now its Sophies choice between a CF and LW. Im fairly in the Martinez camp (whos expensive as well) , but I can understand arguments for a LW.

The era of short fixes has passed. We need something new, and something which would last a hole new cycle. Not a player who would maybe fix things for a season then become a huge problem in itself in 2-3 years.

Everyone might flop. You're saying we should sign old players because the young ones might flop?

The issue with Neymar is even if he doesn't flop he's still a short term fix. Players like Lautaro and Sancho set you for 5-6 years at a minimum if they integrate well.

At this point we need to go for young over old. Neymar is on the wrong side of his 20s. He's almost a veteran and would only increase the issue of veteran power. Imagine Neymar coming to re-form the MSN.

We're making everything worse if we sign him back.
