Lionel Messi - v7

The Ballon d'Or for 'best player' really does need to fuck off in future, it's a ridiculous award. Split it into categories and be done with it, best defender, best midfielder, best forward.

Messi should have had 10 if it were given to the absolute best, it's not though, and currently subjective with biased voting. If you read some comments after he won, it's a case of 'well we know Messi's good, it's expected'... that's exactly why he's won six rather than ten.

One thing that was confusing is how a keeper can win an award for best keeper and then also is in the running for winning best player.

Given it's been around since 1956, I wouldn't bet on it

What's confusing about it? He is winning the best in his position while running for the best overall player. It's like Messi is winning the best forward award and best overall player.

Btw, his first Ballon D'Or without any teammate in the top 20 or so.

14-15, he had SN. 08-12, he had Xavi, Iniesta.

Definitive proof he absolutely carried us last season.

For the record, CR7's never won a Ballon without a teammate in the top 20.

Shocking decision. VVD should have won this year and i think everyone knows it deep down.

Messi may well have 6 Ballon d'Or's but he should only have 4, 2010 was a robbery, should have been Wesley Sneijder as he was instrumental in Inter winning the treble or Xavi or Iniesta due to Spain winning the World Cup, along with success they had at Barcelona that year. Messi even looked embarrassed going up to the stage for that one as he knew he didn't deserve it and (as said) this year he shouldn't have won it, wasn't a robbery like 2010 but he wasn't the best player of 2019 as his club was nowhere near the best.

As said VVD.
Argument for Ronaldo (Serie A and Nations League winners + top scorer at that competition)
Manchester City winning the treble.

Best forward at balon dor? Mustve missed that then.
Thought only Messi, Rapinoe, De Ligt and Allison received an award.

:lol: I want you to have that same energy for Ribery/Robben for the 2013 Ballon D'Or by that logic.

stay bitter and salty.

This joker is actually counting Nations League top scorer as an award while ignoring Messi was the 18-19 CL top scorer and top scorer across ALL leagues in Europe.

Winning La Liga >>>>>>> winning Serie A.

While Iniesta had a great world cup, he was injured for most of 2010. Lots of people like you didn't even watch but just parrot whatever they heard someone else say.
