After that Messi goal after just 2 minutes, in the Pep days we would've followed up with adding another 3 by half time. Makes you wanna cry almost, but at this point i'm just numb to it all really. Just waiting for that 3rd knock out humiliation, probably in the first round already, if we get unlucky with the draw and get a solid team right away as our opponents. Then we'll probably appoint Koeman until the elections.

Even though I am as disappointed as anyone with last night's performance, our away form under Pep was not great either, I clearly recall a game against Kobenhavn (probably weaker than Slavia) in the 2010/11 season (probably the best ever Barca) which ended 1-1 and was very similar to the one last night, but with fewer chances for both sides.

Valverde is a lucky man. With a bit less luck he would have 0 points but we stand at the top. 3 games so far in cl and no good performance. Slavia had so many chances a better team on a good day could finish most of them. Next humiliation is not far away i fear.

Never seen a man having more luck than valverde. Maybe zidane in cl but thats it. Own goal our second best scorer in cl how sad is this?

It's funny how the fanboy mind works. The first three pages of the forum before the game it's all glory and roses. Then 10 minutes into the game reality check hits you like a ton of bricks. Barca fans have to live with the fact that this team is there for the ultimate amusement of us all, football fans, regardless of color. Roma was shock and owe, 'Pool was the ultimate disgrace and humiliation, this year will set the world record for the third consecutive most epic degradation in the history of knock-out stage tournaments ever! The saying goes like "you can't have a new brothel with old whores". Leave Ter Stegen in and replace the rest 10 whores! Including Messi! Then Barca will be back on its glory track in a 10 year time. Should have done this three years ago...

With a little smart transfer policy Barca could have had the winning lineup:
---------Ter Stegen----------
---OwnGoal---OwnGoal---OwnGoal---OwnGoal
---OwnGoal---FDJ---OwnGoal
---OwnGoal---Messi---OwnGoal

Looks pretty impressive to me for less than $200M

Barca in CL: lucky lucky lucky....
very lucky against Dortmund
a bit lucky to make a comback vs. inter
very lucky yesterday.

my prediction: They will make it somehow into the CL knock out phase, with all the points piled up - but then they have to improve drastically - which I doubt they can.

In the second round, Dortmund beat Slavia Prague away, 0-2.

Did anyone here watch it?

I'm asking because Slavia dominated Inter away as well. It seems they're doing well but don't get the points their performances warrant.

It doesnt matter. Its not like slavia became psg overnight. Liverpool lost 0:2 to red star last year, but overall they didnt played shit football until that date. In ev defense, we always had a bad time playing against slavic clubs away, but this one looked like almost every other away game under ev

Slavia played excellent in the Dortmund game. Deserved one poin imo.

People are getting way overboard with this game. It wasn't as bad as stats show. Slavia shot on goal from every single place they could, so their attempts are inflated.

In reality, they had 2 good chances in the last minutes of the first half when we lost concentration and some chances created by individual mistakes from Pique, FDJ , etc.. Those mistakes were mostly not clearing the ball correctly.

Busquets was not bad at all, despite what many think. FDJ was not good in this match. Pique was really bad as well as Griezmann and Suarez was wasteful.
Semedo was truly great though, proving once again that he should be playing that position last year too, on his own.

In the first half we were keeping our midfielders high up the field, thus turning our CBs into playmakers. This worked until the 35th minute or so.
In the second half, we abandoned structured buildup and tried to play a physical game with long balls and counter attacks against a team that can run more than us.
What hurt our performance was the amazingly well though tactic of throwing long balls and giving away posesion easily making our midfield redundant on our own, with no pressure whatsoever.
That about sums it up.
