The two subs were big improvements. It's time for Vidal and Dembele to replace Busquets and Greizmann in the first 11.

Suarez just has a great attitude. He just does not get depressed when he does nothing good for large parts of the game. At any moment, he can explode and win the game. What a weapon!

Messi is back, life is good again.

What happened to Pique on the Inter scoring play? Why the hell was one of our CBs not even remotely near his position in a set play defense? Just like when Lenglet was totally missing on that Liverpool quick corner when Barca got eliminated.

Nah that's what they are at best, subs. Vidal and Dembélé wouldn't contribute with a lot against a fit opponent during the first 45 min.

As for Piqué, didn't he try to clear the ball but instead Inter got a lucky bounce?

Inter got very lucky for their goal, a ricochet in midfield turned out as an excellent assist for Lautaro.

I heard the same in pre-season. I guess messi doesn't like him

Not true at all. Griezmann said he and messi are both quiet people so they dont really talk to each other much. Doesn't mean they don't like each other. I'm sure there are other quiet players in the team who messi doesn't have many chats with

Don't know about that. Griezmann looks like a puppy dog craving affection when he is around Messi. Antoine said in the interview that he hasn't had a chance to talk much because Messi has been injured. But I do think Messi and Co. wanted Neymar, and might have been unhappy that Barca paid his release clause in July. Where theres smoke theres fire

It’s painfully obvious we need to start Arthur, De Jong, and Vidal in the midfield for big matches. Busquets is slow and useless. Crazy how much more energy everyone played with when Vidal came on.

Donkey Suárez finally came through in a CL game. We can expect him to take the next 10 off.

Lenglet and Pique suck so bad. A good CB needs to be a huge priority this offseason.

You're welcome
Griezmann also said he shared a mate with Messi. Messi ain’t a little kid. He’s mature enough to get along with Griezmann.

Looked at the game and my main impression was how disjointed we looked in defence and attack. Pique, Lenglet and Busi are huge liabilities against a team like Inter that can launch rapid counters with their pacey strikers. It's suicide to play a high line with those guys as the deepest players.

BTW, Griezmann is the perfect example of why you buy players who fit the system and not the other way around. He's not bad but he hasn't really been great either.

Edit: And worse you have a coach who is tactically limited and clueless.

I don't like Suarez but his performance today was awesome.

I like Athur but today he did not have a good match. He's just invisible most of the time.

And Messi, well, just one word: indispensable.

As I've already said somewhere, Arthur-De Jong-Vidal must be our midfield.

We need absolutely need Fati or Dembele (absolutely not Griezmann) as winger: Fati :worthy: , Dembele I hope that he can play for months without injury so he can prove what he's worth and silence those who have lots of doubts (like me).

I don't know why we bought Griezmann: or he replaces Suarez (Griezmann is not the CF I would have bought to replace Suarez, but if not to replace Suarez, why we bought him?) or = once again bunch of money throw away.

So much for the "b-b-but we won't make it out of this hard CL group" discussion.
A shite competition made good only by the KOs and the occasional titan battle in the groups.

There are still 4 games to play. I wouldn't assume qualification. Alot of us thought we'd get past Liverpool but in the back of our minds we knew there was a big chance we'd fuck up at Anfield.

De Jong didn't mark Sensi or block passing lane to Martinez. Pique must jump out of his position to press Sanchez leaving space behind for Martinez. Busquet was slow to press Sanchez. Pique's clearance was bad. The positions of the midfield trio ( Arthur / De Jong / Busi ) were not good to defend in that phase.

Barca's pressing was broken a lot of times. It's very dangerous. The aging of Messi and Suarez might contribute to this.
