Antoine Griezmann

Francesc Aguliar claims that he knows someone close to the Griezmann thing, told him that we are putting the Griezmann deal on hold and are exploring B options such as Maxi Gomez.

Might explain the Gomez rumors suddenly popping up today. Although Aguliar is not that reliable.

What a crock of shite.

Like I said in the De Ligt thread, every other possible suitor for Griez has either had someone from their management come out and rule out the signing or reliable reporters deny it claiming that he's off to Barca.

There is no going back now. Griezmann has officially announced his departure meaning he has already signed a pre-contract with us. The Catalan media is trying to cast doubts over the signing as flat out admitting we've secured him is not good for business. These Jovic and Gomez rumours are just a byproduct of that.

Ignore the MD and SPORT circus for the next month as they try and stir up some conflict for clicks. Griezmann will be announced by the club in July.

If the idea is to buy Griezmann only to play him in a trident with Suarez and Messi, I wouldn't do it.

Like how laughable that MD article that was posted talking about how along with Griezmann the club wants a #9 as a rotational option for Suarez. Isn't the whole reason we want to spend 120+Million on Griezmann is to provide real competition to Suarez?

Sure he isn't a perfect fit but I'd rather try our luck in hoping he can be a reliable #9 option than just forcing him to play out on the wing as we did with Coutinho. Otherwise it would be a waste of money.

I hate that I have a Coutinho 2.0 feeling about this one. I’d feel better if we went with a Dembele Griezmann Messi lineup but you know that it will be Griezmann/Dembele playing LW.

I agree with you. Otherwise, AG would not announce his departure.

Frenkie is coming.
Griezmann is coming.
De Ligt is coming.

Those are Barto's papers.
They need to create drama.
And how Barto managed to seal the deals in the end.

And Barto will win new elections.
And core players will play till the age 36.

CL's quarters 2023: Griezz, Suarez, Messi - Raki, Busi, Frenkie - Alba, De Ligt, Pique, Roberto - Mats.

Valgreen doesn’t have the balls to bench Suarez. It will be a trident of Greizmann, Suarez and Messi.

And if I’m not mistaken, Greiz is a left footed player. So already you have a problem with him cutting in from the left on his weaker foot. Interesting.

I said before in the jovic thread that i personally prefer taking a gamble on him over Greiz.
He is a typical cf very strong that can bully the opposing cb.

He can play in a possession based style or use his speed on the counter.
Good with both his feet and in the air. Like a prime lewandowski.

When we struggle with the press he can lead the line and hold up the ball when Mats has to play it long.
Basically a well rounded cf in the making. Good feet, strong, quick, and can win aerial duels.

Some like Greizmann but Jovic is my personal preference.

We need a stricker that can control the ball with his back against defenders, recieve that hail marry pass when we are facing a tight tight pressing and deal with the defenders, despite them pushing hard.

We need that, as it allows our mid to reposition itself. Suarez did that, so did Eto'o, its a vital thing for our style when pressed. The griezz with the bum hair would bring almost nothing new, would give us no edge, especially under retardo.

hppe we dont waste money on him

Sadly it seems inevitable he's coming. Yeah not gonna waste time on that ridiculous Griez-Suarez-Messi pairing with Dembouz being the new Malcom.

Finally, the arrival of Griezmann will mean for a coach the audacity to put a few players on the bench, to face them to make the most of each.
This requires a mental confrontation with the cloakroom, to clarify things: here, whoever wants to play must deserve it, there are no friends, there are no privileges.
But it is a coach who enjoys the serenity in the locker room of senators who gave them all his confidence.
I'm afraid Griezmann will be used by Valverde as a winger, much like Coutinho

Seeing Griezmann sticking on the left line would be an abomination, the worst nightmare.
Anyway, it will only last one season before seeing this impostor get fired from our club.

Says the Barcelona squad is open for a return of Neymar, but not to the arrival of Griezmann. [Ignacio Miguelez]

 i'd happily sell every one of those in agreement apart from Leo

Griezmann does la decision with the help of Pique - dickhead, dressing room don't want

Neymar backstabs and almost kills our summer window for his loyalty bonus - welcome home with open arms
