Ernesto Valverde - V1

We got out of that crisis at the beginning of the 2nd half solely thanks to Leo. He did nothing. At 2-1 he subbed in Dembele (Coutinho-Dembele being on the menu each game) and Vidal (another typical sub).

Now, if Leo didn't score that, we would be very, very close to Roma 2.0. Thankfully he did and we won. With a margin. I'm just afraid of the times when Leo doesn't step up.

It's like as soon as we got the 2-0 he told everyone , ok let's deffend now.

Fucking idiot.

Exactly. We lost control of the game and Lyon got back in it. Terrible choice. When is he going to learn? WE CAN'T DEFEND WITHOUT THE BALL!!! We are Barcelona, the best defense is to have the ball and keep possession.

Or maybe Lyon just ran their asses off for ~20minutes (not sustainable?!)? Jesus, we are not Peps Barcelona anymore (noone is), other teams can and will play football from time to time.

Best midfielder around
We are not going to win the CL with him in charge. Tonight just made me even more sure of that. So if he stays next season too, it will be quite a wait.

This felt like 5-1 vs Real Madrid. You'd think the lead would be bottled when 2-1 up, but then the goals pour in.

That nervous period won't work against better teams.

Lol some ppl on here don't understand football at all. It was a EV masterclass, Lyon switched to 343 from 5212 to apply pressure but leave acres of space for the counter and inevitably tire after applying pressure.

We just had to ride out the storm to hit them on the counter like we did against bayern in 2015.

They get a fluke goal and everyone creams their pants lmao

He should be sacked just for letting Lyon in to the game, regardless of the final score.

Not siding with Retardo here, but are we sure he instructed the players to slack off and make mistakes that gifted Lyon easy possession?
Otherwise we looked good, surely not as bad people in here make out.

If you do that retreat inside your own box (like we did for those 20 minutes) against a team like Juve, they will cross you out of the pitch and score one inside 10 minutes with CR and Manđukić.

Roma did the same last year, but were a lot less effective than this Juve now is.

We panic when we turn from dominating the game to defending and playing on the counter. We aren't comfortable with this sudden change of setup. Why do we not continue to keep possession and punish teams like Lyon. Lyon basically only bothered us when we gave them the ball and sat back. When we pressed them and kept them away from our box by possession, they were toothless.

EV has failed to give this team a soul.
I do not see a team (or very rarely), we are not a unit, i see 11 players that try to play together. The exact opposite of Juventus.
