strange enough i feel the same. to me it also feels like Madrid expected this with how little they invested in the team whilst selling Ronaldo

i look back in anger at that 3peat but mostly anger at Barca. we are one of few clubs who have the psychological edge over Madrid and had we not kept fucking up in the quarters we could of stopped them

suit yourselves mates! i am euphoric. to think of the robberies against Juve and Bayern, of that awful penalty call against levante, of all the luck and dubious refereeing decision that helped the 3 peat along, i feel in a way that real's last 7 days of hell are justice: the football gods (im being literarily playful here) meting out deserved punishment

Right, so when are the football Gods ever going to bring Bayern, Juventus and you guys down to earth?
Now that we got a dose of our punishment, its time to go after the rest.

It's alright man, let them have it. They haven't felt this since 2015.

Will be a crazy transfer window coming up for them. I imagine there will be several big expensive signings.

Nah, not expensive. Maybe major changes, sure, several players will be having discussions, but it's not decided who will come in. Don't have the luxury of throwing money at people anymore.

Throwback to a year or so ago, when most cules in here were busy fellating Perez’s for his genius transfer strategy that would secure them decades of domination. Real Madrid can do no wrong!

In fairness, what is 'wrong' about the current predicament? Problems are easily identified. Only need to pull the trigger at the right time. It's not like it's out of control.

If Madrid will go trophyless next season as well - oh yea, just the thought makes me happy. Maybe even for a couple of seasons more. I feel greedy right now.

People forget, this isnt a trophyless season, CWC is a trophy.

Rumours right now says Mourinho or Pochettino - how can two candidates be so different for Reals future??
Pochettino can rise Real to greatness through concept-football, but only deliver results along the way, no guarentees from the beginning.
Mourinho.. yeah, I'm out of words if they bring him back..

Marcelo is simply past it, its not complicated.
Isco though, completely frozen out by Solari.

Agree with Marcelo. It is his own fault - he has no motivation and maybe he even wants to force a move to Juve.
And maybe some initial disappointment because Lopetegui was ment to make him the superstar of the new tika-taka Real-powerhouse.
Sollari froze him out to make a point that you have to trust and obey the new coach, and from there on he didn't try to integrate him again, and that is quite baffling.

this is for the best of madrid, everything will change and next season RMA will be stronger than ever.

I don't buy that Marcelo is "past it". How does one go from best LB in the world to "past it" in a span of a few months?

As for Madrid's current predicament:

The fact that it has come after a very successful period for them, makes this season's results a lot easier handle. New cycle and all that.

Easily. This isn't something abnormal. We always leaked goals and he made up for it on offense. This season wasn't possible. Defense was still playing like they were with Cristiano with hope that Bale, Benzema, whoever, would be able to carry some of the load. Irresponsible, but natural.

Next page.

Has to be the worst 6 days for RM since I recall. Or for any club for that matter. To loss 0-3 at home against your eternal rivals and get kicked out of the CdR, later to lose against the same eternal rival in the league at home (and basically say goodbye to the league title definitely with 12 rounds left and with a 12 point disadvantage to the same eternal rival), while at the same time being beaten by the same eternal rival in the all-time head to head El Clásico statistic (96-95) later to suffer a humiliating 1-4 defeat against a young and naive Ajax team (with all due respect to them they would have little chance of qualifying against most of the remaining teams in the CL) at home once again no less, that has shown nothing in Europe for almost 15 years and that 1.5 years ago went out against the Norwegian Rosenborg team with freaking Bendtner in the team if I am not wrong.

Hilarious. Just a shame that this RM team won the CL last year and in the 2015-16 season when they were far from being the best team and were outplayed numerous times, had insane refereeing luck and luck in general. Luckily this absurdity ended. A great injustice anyway and I don't really care about this RM exit if we can't take advantage of it and win the CL this season. Nothing less will satisfy me after 3 horrible years in the CL where we "gifted" the CL to RM each single time by not even challenging.

VAR, no CL. Let us hope that this continues for some years. Or better a few decades.

Would be even more hilarious if good old Florentino decides to bring back Mourinho as the "savior".

Was not active here last summer but may I guess, was it our pessimistic Chinese friend Luft leading that crowd of pessimists and that particular doomsday cult? Would not surprise me the least. No offense Luft if you see this post. Just a bit of banter.

Preach.

We can't complain about our record in the CL though which is second to that of RM in the past 15+ years and 30 years. 4 CL in 13 seasons (could be 5 in 14 seasons) ain't so bad either. But I concur. Knowing that we have been the best team in Europe in the past 15 years (dominating RM completely in the two domestic tournaments and in direct matches) yet we "allowed" them to win those 3 CL in a row due to our pathetic displays and thus never having a chance to actually stop them at least once or twice. Something that would not have been outrageous at all. At least in 2016 and last year. Alas, we are extremely spoilt so won't complain at all. Don't dislike RM that much as some people do here and at least a Spanish team won it. Obviously would have preferred it not to occur but if it happened it is a tiny plaster. Always liked Zidane. Would have been FAR worse if it had occurred under Mourinho's watch.

No, "you" won't. RM will never have such a successful period in the CL and this much luck again. Not with VAR around. Sorry. You rode your luck for the next 10 years in that tournament if not more. I can see you struggling to win it again for a while like post 2002.

You have arguably as much rebuilding to do as we have and we have a head start due to the likes of Arthur, De Jong and Dembélé. Genuine world class youngsters. Florentino leaving soon will be a huge blow as well. There are no other alternatives right now. He is far more important than Bartomeu or our board. In fact more than the likes of Laporta. He will leave quite a vacuum.
