Ernesto Valverde - V1

His managerial decisions are absolutely abysmal at times.

At times? Every time the game demands something from the sidelines he's just clueless. If somehow the game gets complicated in the process, count him out. He won't do anything. Man is like an avatar on the sidelines. Like the actual manager is gone to be with his family and this default robot takes his place. He probably instructs the robotic self to never sub Suarez or Messi.

How does a manager sub off two of the best performing players (Semedo and Alena) in a game that we actually we actually needed to make a comeback on?

Shit got me trippin. This cat Valverde on something else.

Nope. Been happening to top teams for at least a year though. It's possible to start new trends and continue old ones you know.

Yea, it's possible. Especially with a clown like Valverde. He's an expert at continuing old bad trends and starting new ones. He could even turn Lyon into a bad trend. It's not above his powers to run this transatlantic into a tiny aisberg like Lyon.

If Valverde would've been captain on the Titanic he would've saved everyone by crashing the ship 10 meters after the departure.

I say at times, because some games he stands there doing nothing and gets away with it by default.

No wonder he doesn't rotate. Unless he fields the gala 11, he cannot win.

Even when he fields the gala 11 he finds ways to mess up the subs. Guy should have subs removed from his powers and put into some calculator to randomize them. Bet we would get more right in this way.

*sigh*
Subs? Sure. I don't understand the Roberto fetish, probably counted on him performing OK in the past few fixtures... And that's where legit criticism that kind of holds ground (although not really, Semedo isn't consistent himself) kind of finishes. The rest is the usual problems.

a) people bitch about Pique and how he has to stay on.. well, he's your defensive leader, even if he's injured. Which is an antithesis in itself.
b) Vidal is NOT a DM.
c) Messi and Coutinho as wingers in 4-3-3 is a bad idea. Messi with Coutinho in any current setup also involving Suarez as #9 is a bad idea.
