Didn't he finish the game?

How did they let him finish the game with a Torn ACL? Anyway, it's a pity. Also credit to him for playing through it. Most players go down rolling at the slightest of contact.

Yes he did. He apparently got injured right in the middle of 2nd half. But IMO, playing through pain is stupid, especially when your team still has subs to make. Should have been taken off... Especially with his past injuries.

to my knowledge if it is clean ACL injury ( no meniscus involved) then sometimes the felt pain isn't severe actually and people might initially think it isn't serious

But isn't a torn ACL injury pretty easy for the medical staff to spot right away by testing the player's knee? Perhaps they never got the chance to do so with Rafinha not going out to the sideline.

Yeah, usually with most injuries the worst pain comes after the game. The adrenaline rush from the game kind of takes your focus away from it, or so it is from my experience.

When I tore my ACL It actually felt like I injured the top of my calf.

I guess the doctors had no idea about checking the knee. Rafinha didn't seem that hurt either.

Sad for him. He could have played in a solid team anywhere.

Yes. I an odd way I can't get what was he thinking... I know you want to be part of the best team in the world. But if it doesn't go, it doesn't go. He is good enough for 10s of top teams... but in Barça, he would always be benched.

Well its not like he desperately wanted to stay, he was hoping Inter would buy him and probably would've considered other clubs too but if it's true that we wanted 35M then there is not much he could do because most smaller clubs just can't pay that unless its a PL team.

Your statement is more true for Denis, everybody knows he won't make it at barca even as a squad player but in summer reports were saying he had no intention to leave at all if i remember that correctly.

e said he ants to leave, he said good bye to the team in January, said he wants to leave in summer too IIRC.
there was simply no offer for him, he had to stay.

There was an offer of 25 million apparently, but our board was greedy and wanted 35 million as was the first deal with Inter. So everything fell through and Rafa came back to Barca.

If the board was greedy than it is all to them... no money and no player. Idiots.

I liked Rafinha, he seemed like a nice guy. But my, he is made out of glass. Sad.
