don't even think dakt or vlad were outright racists. They're probably just being sore losers who were trying to bring up "true blood" in a demeaning attempt to discredit their opponents achievement. I've seen this type of shit being directed to us Germany several times aswell. Again mostly from typically right wing people around the Balkan area who seem to be unfamiliar with the concept of migration and mixed heritage (probably because they don't have it).
I don't even see how this shit is a problem. If someone is born in a country, growing up there, speaking their language, living their culture, visiting their schools and enjoying the entirety of football education there, then that footballer should represent this country. After all NTs are about nations, not about ethnicities. If he chooses to represent the country of his parents origin however, I'm also fine with it.
What I do think is questionable are footballers that are adults applying for citizenships in foreign countries to play for their NT. An example would be Cacau for us in 2009 or Mario Fernandes in Russia, or what many oil states do during the olympics or major sports tournament. This is indeed defying the idea of a nationalteam

Wholeheartedly agree. Does FIFA have rules regarding how much time one has to wait to be eligible to be selected by a NT after he or she gains the citizenship of that country? I thought so. Maybe they need to prolong that.

I believe the rule is that once you have played for the adult NT in a competitive game (friendlies don’t count), you can never play for another country.
We are talking about a different issue though, which is countries recruiting foreign players who have never played a competitive game for their NT to give them citizenship so they can play for them. It should be at least a 5 year waiting period in my opinion. MARIO Fernandes only got his Russian citizenship in 2016 I believe.

You are eligible to play for any country if you
a) hold citizenship of that country
b) have not been selected to a competetive match for another senior NT before
The process of "naturalisation of foreign players" in some countries is supposed to be limitted by a rule introduced in 2004 that says players need to demonstrate a "clear connection" to any country they wish to represent, i.e. having at least one parent or grandparent who was born in that country, or the player has to resident in that country for at least two years.
Yes but friendly games do not commit a player to one country. If you have played for a senior NT before in a friendly you have to make a request to FIFA to switch nations. Examples are Diego Costa (played friendlies for Brazil), Thiago Motta (same) or Jermaine Jones (played friendlies for Germany).
