Poor game? You people are insane. That’s probably the best Barça have played all season. Limiting the opposition to what? 3/4 shots with 70% + possession and a high line. Pressing was exceptional too.

I can only assume it’s the 4-4-2 brigade... After a 4-4-2 rendered a draw before.

The situation with Semedo is baffling. Ev is schizophrenic when it comes to Semedo.

Semedo was bought because he was a speedy rb who excelled in attack. I saw him play for Benfica and he was excellent.

Alot of times here at Barca he will pass and then make a run but the return pass is never made. Instead Roberto, Rakitic will swith the ball to the middle and try and pass to Messi.

Valencia played without half of their first 11, and were uber shit. In spite of all the possession we had we created maybe 2 big chances all game. We wasted a lot of time passing the ball with super slow speed in neutral areas, which is exactly what Valencia tried to make us do.

Most of these fans complaining identify with Lucho's Barca (result oriented, tactically inept football) smh

I agree with Messicam. Don't think it was as bad as people make it out to be. Just think players lacked a bit of motivation(could be because fan showing was weak). Also Valencia didn't come to play football, understandibly.

Player do need to step up in terms of motivation against Chelsea though.

They played with a deep block. One of the deepest blocks I’ve seen from a top 10 side in recent memory. How do you think Paulinho, Gomes etc would have faired against them? Paulinho was a bad substitute tonight by the way. At a time when structure needed to be maintained. He is not positionally astute.

Answer me this... Have you seen a better defensive display than this all season? Barça won that midfield battle hands down and it was against a top 4 team without a double pivot.

We all know this team is headed for a 4-3-3.

That was mainly down to Rakitić and Busquets, who were sweeping the ball from Valencia like crazy. This game doesn't come close to Anoeta 2nd half and Betis 2nd half.

It's difficult to break down a team playing so far behind, while they restrict space in the middle. Really boring to watch too. I think more teams will try these tactics, as it probably works better than many other playstyles vs Barca.

So? Isn’t that the midfield battle? Without a double pivot... Further the pressing high up the pitch caused bad passes. We forced the opposition to make passes into weak areas. A lot of them even misplaced that went for throw ins.

In the first half we had over 80% possession... How can they score when they don’t have the ball?

They could have had a full strength squad tonight but it would have made little difference. That’s how good Barça were at closing down spaces and passing lanes and the key to it all was a central Messi. This guys influence over games is only getting better but yet we’re led to believe that teams have figured him out on here.

You guys can laugh at me and ridicule me as much as you like but this side is not made for a double pivot and I’ve been saying it since the beginning.

Further, are you seriously comparing Sociedad and Betis to Valencia?

I don't think it was the best but it was up there. I think we pressed well and moved the ball quicker than in most games. On another night one of those Messi shots would have crept through a defenders legs and into the goal. You'll never get a load of chances against an 11 behind the ball valencia

Poor game. Should be happy that we managed to score and Roberto wasn’t sent off, tho.

They're lucky too. Clear handball on Suarez goal. It should have been a red card + penalty just like the Carvajal handball on Clasico.

I think the ref decided well actually to allow the goal any way we need be thankful it might have ended 0-0 and that's not a good result at all to take to the Mestalla.

Our pressing game is on point. We lacked penetration in the box when the bus is parked.

I suspect this will be the scene when playing Chelsea later this month. Introduction of Coutinho on the left gave us a bit more dynamism.
