André Gomes

Didnt he start one match and scored 2 goals for them? It was similar case with isco under ancelotti, benitez and then he showed that he is in top 3 players on his position, real is buying smart, ceballos maybe chose them because they look better and had just won 2 cl in a row

He definitely didnt go there because it was easy to get into their midfield compared to ours. He has started 1 out of 13 games so far. Not even with Kova out is he getting much playing time. He would walk into our midfield. But RM were far earlier at showing interest in him.

Those two statement are kind contradictory IMHO
Busquets: starting DM
Iniesta,Paulinho,Alena are back up CM, Denis and Roberto are possible back up for that position too.
That is 6 midfielders already, this limit our ability to sign new midfielders, that is why you see a guy like Ceballos would go to RM, we already have a crowded midfield even if it is with lower quality and he sees them as a club that was succesful with young players.
You can convince a star player like Coutinho who knows that he will walk into our starting line up, but it will be tough to sign two of those. Groetzke/Seri etc will be tough to convince with such crowded midfield, we will need to sell more than Gomes/Rakitic to get them.

Denis is not a midfielder for me. He is an option for the wings, or a candidate to be sold for some good price. Don't like him in a midfield 3. So that leaves for me Paulinho, Busquets and Roberto. Rakitic and Gomes sold for good money and Iniesta should play only from time to time and the easier games, with maybe minutes in the big ones like Xavi in 14-15, where he can impact the game for a limited time.

From Paulinho, Busi, and Roberto only 1 should be a starter and that's Busi, while the other 2 can be squad player who play or don't play depending on the game and the opponent.

This means we need direct Iniesta replacement, maybe Coutinho, if not possibly Lemar or some other player. And we also need Rakitic replacement, only simply better on the ball and with better passing skills. That can be Seri, or even Goretzka.

We need to sell Rakitic, Gomes, Rafinha, Arda, Vidal, Alcacer, Denis. Bring in Coutinho, Seri, Goretzka if possible, promote Alena. 7 out, only 3 in but top quality. Alena as the 4th.

All 3 players can be signed.

I didn't say it is easy for him, but in both cases he had numerous older crowded midfield, one of those teams showed previously vision with their young midfielders and the other didn't.
We are simply incapable of presenting a good case for such talent. If we want two new starting midfielders we either need to spend big or being able to convince players, and it will be tough to convince someone to come (let's say Goretzka) and compete with La Masia graduate Roberto, all time football legend Iniesta, new expensive signing Paulino along Denis and new wonder kid Alena and another new signing like Coutinho

Khaled,

Seri was willing to come with this packed midfield.

Goretzka willing to go to Bayern with their packed midfield with better quality too.

You portrayed it as easier for him in RMs midfield packed with quality and depth compared to our garbage midfield. He would walk into our midfield in its current state. Iniesta is a small shadow of his former self and anyone with eyes can see it. The way you hype up our midfielders trying to portray it as hard for the management to sign quality is a bit silly.

I didn't hype anyone, I said we had large number of midfielder anyway, him walking in our line up is your opinion (which probably true) but what matters is our coach opinion, and coach telling Gomes he is in his plans, didn't have a pla to bench Iniesta or get rid of Rakitic, that would be worrying for him. That doesn't send a message "Ceballos, you are going to walk into our midfield)
RM having better midfield in terms of quality isn't even arguable atm, but also their ability to find a plan for young players like Asensio and Isco.

I mean for real, since when saying we need to get rid of more players is hyping

I don't rate Seri that high, and he will cost us 40M at the age of 27 with limited potential forward. for me that isn't much of an upgrade.

Of course we need to get rid of players. But we cant because many are garbage on high wages. If quality players seriously think they cant compete with Denis and "new wonderkid" Alena so rather join Bayern's and RMs midfield, then the problem is inept people in charge.

Watching that he did better than I remember and I thought he did quite well anyway.

He had a good game overall. Much better than some of scared shitless performances seen in past.

I'm the one who edited and uploaded that video. Includes probably 98% of his involvement in the game. Omitted two short passes with Jordi Alba.

He indeed had a good game, but by his standards. By F.C. Barcelona standards it was poor display, as usual. Back and side passes to Semedo and Rakitic doesn't count. I said it yesterday - Andre Gomes is like a retarded version of Gerard Pique. He plays like a defender in every area of the pitch. People talk about that pass to Suarez, what if he scored? Nothing. I still wouldn't rate Andre any higher. Just like I don't think that Suarez from 2013/2014 has returned. He is still the same fatso to me.

I disagree think he played well and took plenty of riskier options certainly than he used to.

Also he took the physical battle to them and got stuck in.

It wasnt a poor display at all. One of the better players in team yesterday.
