Poor Neymar, left Barca "to escape Messi's shadow", and now Messi's shadow seems to be hanging over him more than ever

The comments of Lustig are spot on!

Last 4 years I was happy with him due to his talent, but too many occasions he got into a rumble with the RB.
Says enough about the legacy he is leaving on the football world.

Nobody cares how many times he will win the french league, so CL and international football is where it is at.

True, but they will care if PSG doesn't win the league. Nasser wants to win the CL with PSG and that's why he signed Neymar. Neymar thinks he can help them achieve it. If they can pull it off he wins the ballon d'or/fifa best player award no doubt about it.

Beyond comprehension ? It's a load of shit. Is it a big challenge? Sure. So is winning it here. His supposed dream club. He left for all the wrong reasons, and gave shit excuses as to why. If he thinks he's going to cement a legendary legacy by playing at p$g, he's just fooling himself. There no way around it, psg isn't a respected club. It's just not. They aren't bad on the pitch, but nobody respects them for obvious reasons. He left for money and himself. While that alone isn't that bad, we all know how he went about it. Like a prick.
Good luck to him with that challenge, I have a feeling he won't even get a sniff of it.

Are you really comparing the challenge on winning CL with Barça (legendary club, goat player as a partner, amazing system, etc) to winning CL with the "on construction" PSG? REALLY?

Jesus Christ, of course winning it with PSG is a bigger challenge simply because Barça is always a title contender, while PSG still is an underdog.

You can hate him all day long for being greedy and for leaving Barça the way he left, but denying the challenge PSG represents to his career is beyond stupidity. If he is going to achieve what he plans is a totally different matter, but the challenge is there, undeniably.

The thing is there is still alot of doubt about it actually, even if we assume that PSG pulls it of and winns the CL, Neymar has to establish himself as the undoubtfully main player and most responsible figure of that achievement. This might be likely , is by no means a given tho, with Cavani taking all the penalties and Mbappe looking rly good out there too, this is not a certain thing, and is possibly gonna look like a team effort more than a one man show.

Cavani taking penalties is not going to be an issue. Neymar was their best player in all matches so far and he will probably their best player this season in general. I don't see Mbappe going to perform better if looking at a full season, i think you overrate him. And the team will be build around Neymar. Others will have to adapt to him, Neymar will not need to adapt to the team.

For Neymar to win the ballon d'or either psg need to win cl (without messi winning wc) or he needs to win the wc with Brazil. That would instantly seal it.
Same as it has for Ronaldo the last few years.
Problem for me is who gives a fuck about the ballon d'or? nobody used to care and now all of a sudden its the benchmark for footballing greatness.
I blame Ronaldo for it. In his obsession to be seen as equal/better than Messi has made everything about the ballon d'or. Now its just goals= good performance despite how you played and team performance+ marketing = ballon d'r = greatness. Its ridiculous.

First of all, you need to chill the fuck out. I'll not sure why you're acting like such a little bitch about it and throwing out insults. I really don't care that much.
Show me where I denied it being a challenge, please. Or maybe you can use your eyes and see that I literally said it's a big challenge in the exact same post you quoted? Jeez. Somebody has their panties in a bunch.

If you bothered reading my other recent comments I've already said all I have to say on the matter. It's a challenge. A big one I don't see him achieving, and in my opinion he would have he been better off staying and actually having a good chance at the big titles. And while I can respect him wanting to go off on his own and make his own path, he did it like a little bitch, and money played a very big part besides this "challenge".

Oh, I'm not rating Mbappe higher than Neymar, I also don't think that either one of the other two will outperform him, I'm just saying that for winning the balon (as that seems to be kind of an obsession of his), he will have to greatly outperform his teammates and be the undisputed number 1 player of PSG while leading them to the CL title.

Bayern winning the treble in 2013 didn't even land Ribery (or any other Bayern player for that matter) a Balon Dor. Ronaldo won it despite Barcelona winning LaLiga and Messi scoring 40 something goals.

I suspect though a PSG CL would "earn" Neymar the award. Both in part to the way votes are "won" and establishing Neymar/PSG/Ligue1 as elite entities.

That quote is likely to be fake, there's no evidence (audio/video) of Lustig saying that statement.

Although he's a history for calling out Neymar for being a diver last year.

Neymar much more marketable than any of those Bayern players. And the fact that his PR team has made sure to shield his greed by the bull shit called "Stepping away from Messi's shadow" is only gonna help him further - if PSG did win the CL!

You were since the beginning calling this "challenge thing" a bullshit, then got wronged by 2-3 different users and simply semmantically changed your stance while moving the goalposts to "I hate how he left and he is not going to achieve what he plans with this challenge".

On top of that you put Barça on the same level as PSG by comparing the challenge a CL title is for us with the challenge it is for them. It's not my fault if you decided to embarrass yourself by doing that.

You should read your previous posts.

No, what I called bullshit was that being his main reason for leaving. When it was obviously money and overall selfish reasons. I don't need to read my posts, I wrote them. His challenge is still laughable, because basing your entire future legacy on possibly winning one trophy is just stupid. He will only get the recognition he wants by winning the hardest trophy to win. While elsewhere, he could be lauded by just winning a tough league on its own.

Embarrass myself ? Dude, it's Barca forum. You honestly care that much?
I posted full of salt, and acknowledged as much. Multiple times. it's not me "semantically" changing my stance . It's people making good points that's I can't disagree with, and having to acknowledge that while I wish it were a certain way, there are multiple factors involved.

You're the only one with a problem here. I wasn't "wronged" by anyone. Other posters, ever so kindly, just pointed out that there were other factors in play. It has nothing to do with "embarrassing".
You're obviously very uptight. You need to take a chill pill and stop being an overly sensitive prick.
