Paulinho

Should have bought Matuidi for 20m if we wanted a player of this profile. But of course that wouldn't have lined Farto's pockets.

Physical box to box midfielders are everywhere, why did we buy one for 40 fucking million from China of all places?

I told you guys, Paulinho is not a joke. And i think that Brazil played worse than normal today. Coutinho changed the game, he made good passes and runs. Neymar was playing like a spoiled child today, he wanted to do everything alone and had bad decisions. Coutinho came and passed the ball around faster and made the team link better all around.

With Coutinho, Willian, Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, Daniel and Marcelo all going forward, Paulinho had a much more defensive role than normal in this game.

He can control the ball well, he can make long and short passes, has a good finish and can defend well. The problem is that he is not a CM that orchestrates the game, the ones that Barça likes. But he can help in his own way.

His problem is his price. He can and will help the team, i'm sure of it.

It's true Neymar plays well when he has the free role, but he doesn't and will never posses the playmaking abilities that Messi has. He's a crack yes, but not a number 10.

That's the thing you people don't get about him. Paulinho dishes assists and scores goals. He's not a finesse player, but he's decisive offensively. He may not be the right midfielder for Barcelona, but he isn't freaking matuidi either.

theres nothing special about that highlight why are you guys overrating his game lmao

I agree with this. He did his job defensively and there was little space for his infiltration plus William and Neymar were holding the ball too much. But he had a chance and scored the 1-0 goal. That's him for you, scoring important goals, the 1a0 and 2a1 type of goals.

I am not talking about Paulinho for this one game, i watched Paulinho playing in many games for Corinthians, even at Tottenham where he had bad games.

I believed in this guy more than most. I have been advocating for him and what he can bring to the team for a while after changing my initial opinion of him. At first I was concerned because he was coming from china league but after looking at him more closely I came to believe in his skills.
Same here dude...

Personally I would love it if he succeeds here.

Iniesta and Rakitic have the energy of old age pensioners but a midfield of Roberto, Busquets and Paulinho makes me think we are Swansea not FC Barcelona.

Matuidi wouldn't be 20m if Barca was after him.
