Was Toral rated highly at all? He seemed like a typical average attacking Midfielder who Arsenal took a gamble on with Bellerin and thought he might end up being better than he really was.

Yeah he scored 30/40 goals from midfield the season before Arsenal signed him I think. Was all about the Samper/Toral midfield.

Arsenal move for who they think are the better players.

Interesting. Wenger also tried to get Samper with Bellerin and Toral, but he turned them down so he could stay here. Toral's contract expires at the end of June according to transfermarkt, and it doesn't seem like he will get a renewal.

No chance Arsenal renew him.

He was shit in the SPL last season when seen him.

City, Arsenal, Bayern all have no problem signing our young talents but why the fuck do we never take any of theirs?

Honestly what can you do about a 16 year old who wants out? There really isn't much to offer these kids and the greedy scumbags who are pulling their strings.

If you get to Grimaldo's stage where you actually have leverage to claim first team play and don't get it, then yes it is on the club. Buy guys like Morey and Garcia are just children.

I agree with serghei, if these kids want to leave as teenagers, let them leave. The law differences in Spain are well documented. And the Grimaldo/Palencia's situations, while bad from a La Masia perspective, were obviously the fault of the manager who is no longer even with the club. If a 16-17 year leaves based on that they're an idiot.

We've had numerous kids leave at this age of all kinds of wonderkid levels and the only one to really make it at any decent level is Bellerin, who is almost universally not wanted here anyways. If a La Masia player is talented enough they will get a chance with the B team. It's only at that point do they have the right to look at the first team and wonder if they have a shot of making it there.

They take our players for the same reason we don't take theirs. The laws in Spain make not being in Spain when you turn 16 far more favorable. Nothing we can do about it but hope Madrid starts developing quality players who end up getting poached, too.

Makes sense.

I assume everywhere else the age is 18?

Ferran Martinez wrote an article a couple of days ago how the club plans on making release clauses bigger on a number of star prospects in La Masia, in an effort to fend off other clubs.

Spain current laws put Spanish teams at a disadvantage when it comes to trying to fend off teams from other countries from poaching youth.

Cat radio saying Barca denied that Morey was sold or being sold and Bayern also denied the deal as well.

Puyol suggesting Eric Garcia to leave to get better chances is a slap in the face. The situation must be so dire that a club legend who loves barca more than anything suggesting a talented kid to move out of barca to have a chance at a career.

Puyol is now a football agent,he preferred that over staying in the club and being the next SD in the future.
He is my all time favorite player, but his loyalty now is for putting players into the best alleged situation for them financially, career wise etc and establishing a big network for himself.

Best for him financially as well if they leave. Can bet on that.

The 'career wise' argument doesnt fit when they go to City either.

Puyol is out to make money like anyone else in that position.

Loved Puyol but his Barca past is irrelevant now in relation to the job he is in other than he can probably get fairly easy access to young la masia players.
