Makes my heart bleed a little to watch Argentina these days tbh .. :(

Pretty much. Enerving to see so many brain dead players. And coach. Di Maria's selfishness is ridiculous too. Messi is doomed.

Here's what angers me about Argentina.

Romero = starting after he plays almost 0 mins for United.
Bigilia = guy is a disaster and plays 90 mins all the time.
Lavezzi = subbing in instead of Correa or Lamela. Hopefully if Dybala is in the squad this won't be an issue but you never know with Tata.

If Argies can plug these 3 holes they will stop angering me.

Willy should've been called up with his recent form at City while Rulli should be starting. Romero dropped together with Rojo. They can stay in Manchester with their loser mentality. I'm also in desperate need to see Messi playing with Correa and Dybala :)wub:) up front.

The generation that won Olympics? It was good generation, only missing solid MF and good coach (Sabella was good, Tata and Maradona are trash).

The Olympic is considered more of a youth tournament though and Argentina does well at that level. At senior level, it has been disappointing to be fair. I mean Messi has been to three finals and lost all of them. They had a tournament at home and did poorly. Aguero hasn't been great for the NT. Higuain chokes when it matters. Can't only fault the coach IMO. AFA is probably the biggest problem but that another issue.

Winning Olympics doesn't make you gr8 generation .they also lacked many good players in many positions.and many players have under performed massively with them

Reaching the world cup final and losing to the strongest team in the world, and reaching to the Copa America final and losing to a strong host team, are accomplishments.

It is a disappointment when looked from the perspective of what could have been. But still, those are accomplishments that are all but recognized.

What I'm saying is that generation that won Olympics had some fantastic players that all ended up in big clubs and selling for big fees. They did disappoint, but its still a lot to do with coaches (cmon Maradona in 2010) and going against VERY good team, better one even, in last WC final. They could have won, maybe Messi was disappointing since this was his lowest point in career, but they still gone to final in comparison to many other big NT.

I agree with this. It's a game of variables and luck. They convert those chances and this conversation is different.

And there's nothing coming through now. If Argentina don't win anything with this generation then when will they? Messi's got 2 Copa's and 1 or 2 World Cups left. Same for the rest of the squad. Iit'll be Dybala and a load of nobodies by Qatar.

Already they have no full backs and rely on reserve keepers for their clubs.
