Thiago Alcantara

I'm actually quite confident in Rafinha coming back strong.

Barcelona (as a location) and our medical team is one hell of a combo to overcome that kind of injury. Besides, with our ties to Bayern Munich (and his with Thiago), he should have the best of the best of the best medical staff working with him (I mean, they patched up Robben even though the main culprit behind this has left).

Shame he couldn't stay loyal like Roberto.
Mistake, he probably very well knows he made
but won't admit in public.

Roberto considered leaving past summer, as per himself. But unlike Thiago, he had a coach that asked him to stay as Xavi was leaving, encouraged him, etc. Very different scenarios.

Roberto was never offered a central role at the current european champions either though and had an easier route into the team vs ageing Iniesta and Rakitic.

Very different situations.

Roberto never had an easier route than Thiago! Roberto had to ply his trade in defense to prove his worth for crying out loud!!

Thiago no where near loyal enough to be even compared with Roberto.... Forget about it!

28 yrs-old Iniesta, Xavi and Cesc is different from 31 yrs old Iniesta and Rakitic. He also was never as highly regarded as Thiago either. What happened with Bob was pretty much an anomaly... I doubt anyone here really thought he could be as good as he is now. Most only thought he'd be a good squad player, like Keita.

As opposed to being spit on and cursed at by tito,
He received an offer from bayern with a higher salary and was a direct request from pep guardiola himself, To add to all of that pep's brother was his agent, And the WC was a year away and wanted more 'guaranteed' minutes, Had a meeting with tito, Told him that he is key player for the future and he should draw from the previous experiences of his fellow team mates, And as any self respecting coach would do, He didn't promise any 'guaranteed' minutes, Reminding him he had to compete with the likes of xavi and iniesta.
Thiago chose what best for himself, As what most players will do, No one can greatly fault him for this, But these stories about being 'pushed away', 'marginalized', 'Not treated fairly', are the pinnacle of b****hit arguments if they was any.

 @ "easier route"

You do know he was here all the time, right? Not only since last season.

Eh?

I am saying one of the differences between Roberto staying this summer when he thought about leaving and Thiago leaving in 2013 was that he did not have as great offer as Thiago to leave and had an easier route to the first team place than Thiago did.

It is not all about how much a manager asks them to stay.

Roberto himself said Enrique talking to him was important. As it was to thiago that pep wanted him. But yes, if Roberto had left he'd be in second string team now.

You still pretend you don't understand Roberto was here too just like Thiago facing same obstacles.

Not sure what you mean.

His easier route was only an ageing/declining Iniesta and a decent but nothing spectacular Rakitic and the possibility of a lot of games at RB with an ageing Alves.

He had to way up those opportunities vs offers from mid table EPL clubs and rightly decided to stay.

Thiago had on front of him an ageing Xavi, peak Iniesta and Fabregas who was performing better than him and had no real other position offered to get minutes. The choice he had was that vs being offered a place as central figure in Pep Guardioas new club who were European Champions.

No slight on Roberto and I always supported him but the situations are very different.

Roberto was promoted in 13/14, replacing Thiago, actually. This is his 3rd season as a 1st teamer.
