Wouldn't surprise me as he missed a couple of chances he'd normally score from and was most likely very frustrated with himself. I mean, it wouldn't be uncharacteristic of him.

That said, he absolutely was the MOTM even with those missed chances. The rest of the team, including the coach, needs to seriously step up if they want to win the Copa, he can't always carry them on their back. The other forwards need to start converting the chances he creates for them, especially Higuain.

Guys please stop with this "Argentina is shit, Messi does it all alone" bullshit. They have a very good team, especially for a national side. I defended the choice to declare him as best player of the World Cup btw. so I do realize when he performs well and stands out.
But let's take the WC final and Paraguay as examples: Did Messi have good games and performed better than most players on the pitch? Yes. But was he the only one not making any mistakes? No. He missed good chances like all the other forwards did too.

Realize that Messi has bad games too.

Does anyone have La Liga dribbling stats from 2014/15? I'm interested to see how many Messi has completed, but I also want to compare to other players. Is there anywhere where I can find a list of say the the top 50 dribblers in the league?

That game really should be Messi and Mascherano vs Germany.

In that World Cup, Messi maybe had about the same fitness as Aguero? We all know what a great player Aguero is. Nonetheless if you remember, Aguero was utterly useless in that tournament, yet Messi was still able to make game changing and match winning performances... Not bad for a half-fit GOAT!
