Against teams like psg, the back should be Mathieu - Verm - Pique(Bartra) - Alves(montoya). There are players for a tall defense, I wonder if we'll see that this season.

Against teams like psg, the back should be Mathieu - Verm - Pique(Bartra) - Alves(montoya). There are players for a tall defense, I wonder if we'll see that this season.

Phew, seriously, we didn't look good tonight!
Some of the thoughts I gathered, not all are mine!
- what happened to our midfield? Psg passed through every time, I always though we were brilliant because of our midfield
- mathiaeu, one gotta love this guy, but he is not fast enough for the CL (today the competitors were not even worldclass)
- messi got older, lucho made the right decision with suarez, as soon as he is in, messi will play deeper than we are used to see him, kinda argentina style but not as deep as there!
- neymar gotta take over the top scoring player label asap and shine as a star and not only as a potential soon, very soon! We need him!
- i don't expect us to get better this year! We are not the same anymore, it happens with all teams that wrote history, sooner or later it is over and you have to get used to a less worldclassy game!
- alba is pretty good, but nut a worldclass player, he never really shines against tough opponents

Sometimes I wonder the incredible success has destroyed the fanbase. You just can't expect barca to win treble every year. It took 12 year and 1 bn€ investment to bring one for Madrid. After every defeat most of the people are like barca are doomed and all. Even pep did not start that brightly. If it was a match where we did not create any thing yes I would share your worries. But that is not the case we did everything we could after we conceded and that gives me hope. The match was lost because of individual mistakes. Our away record sucks a big time too. Wake up people this is not 2010-11. I still expect us to win the league. CL who knows we can only tell after suarez comes.
Stay positive. At least messi is in form and neymar hitting a lot of goals. That partnership did not work last season but this season it is creating miracles. If lucho learns from his mistakes and fans becoming more realistic it will be great for everyone.
I did expect us to dominate psg with their current form but lesson was learnt again. Same happened with Milan. We have a revenge match that too with ibra included.
It is a work in progress and i think best is yet come.

Boy I liked this match, I liked this match pretty much ! Sure we lost, some bad errors in the defense cost us a lot, but it's not like we didn't play at least decently in attack. The pressing wasn't very efficient, I can give you that, but otherwise for a football fan it was a very entertaining game. That happened in the second matchday in UCL, which doesn't mean too much.
I'd say the midfield looked better when Xavi came in, Messi was a pure beast and we had some clear chances to level it in the end (Sandro and Alba at least). Too bad we conceded too many spaces and some crucial defensive errors cost us the match. Otherwise, I'd say the team played well-ish.
Gotta give credit to PSG as well, who didn't resemble to what they've done so far in Ligue 1. Nice match, avoid those errors in the future, get a full-form Suarez to be more effective upfront, maybe as some of you said with a good Vermaelen back in defense we might look stronger..we'll see.

Hopefully Lucho will give us more variations than Tito and Tata did on the back line. Teams like Atletico, Real, Bayern, Chelsea are all built to score on set pieces on us.

Midfielders are playing too wide, to cover for the fbs. And then not really linking up. That's a problem.

Shit, so we should lower our expectations? its the lack of progress from last year that is worrying, i know its early, but we still sit on the ball and play without risk even when we are the team trailing, our defence still looks shaky facing real competitions, our new signings was really exposed today, our coach rotations makes my head spin.

Bad performance today. The 2 goals were beautiful but apart from that PSG was the better team today.
MAtS is to blame for the 2nd goal but why is Lucho even playing him? It is just stupid to let one keeper play in the league and one in CL. I would like MAtS to be our 1st keeper but he got injured at the wort possible moment, Bravo got his chance and he is solid so far. This rotation bs almost cost Madrid the CL last year and it looks like we will do the same this season. Avoidable mistakes.
It also seems that Rakitic + Iniesta is not the best combo but they should get more time to click.

There are some positives as well from match:
1) Messi was immense
2) We press very hard
3) Masch showed while he is CB liability, he would be a better choice for DM currently. He is faster and more alert then Bus is nowadays
4) Neymar is scoring
Bad things picked up from match :
1) Messi dropped a bit in last half of hour, should still work a bit on his fitness. Maybe lose a couple of pounds (?)
2) We press manically, but not tactically good. Sometimes 5 of our players would press but PSG players would somehow pass the ball and then whole lot of space would be open
3) Pedro absolutely can't start anymore.
4) Neymar likes to slow game down with his tricks, should definitely drop it.
5) Our midfield is not creative AT ALL. Even last match in LaLiga was won because Messi/Alves crossing. That is NOT good at all. We are more dependent on Messi then ever.
Thats it. Pretty bad, pretty bleak. Hopefully we fix these issues and realize we are not untouchable anymore. Nobody is. We were, and looking back you can see how out of the ordinary that time was, we were so good its beyond words. Its still just September we have time to make it work so no biggie for now . Good thing Suarez is coming back since he is the only one who's vision and playing ability can follow Messi's.
