33 is normal age for declinig either you ar called Messi or Ronaldo...but he does look like perfectionist, so he could keep his level for quite some time

Normaly yes, but Ronaldo is on the edge of insany when it comes to his dedication, he most likely works really hard not to decline in those aspects. Unless he gets injured I wont see him decline like a normal person.

Actually he seems to have problems with his knee so I can't see him play for that many years to come.

Yup. When I say so many of CRs goals are tap-ins- its not a complete insult. It takes a lot to do that. Firstly, the hunger and obession to score. Second, the fitness to get into those spaces. Third, the knowledge on what spaces to get into, and when (though he's less skilled at the 'when' than all the other stuff mentioned; he just runs whenever he can without really thinking about it, but still). And fourth, of course, the finishing ability.
He is a phenomenal goalscorer.
However, I'll always be the party pooper and maintain til I die that most things about his game are still overrated. We see his amazing stats, his amazing attributes (which he has plenty of)- and so then act like he's near perfect at everything. I'm sick of hearing commentators saying 'inaccurate pass from Ronaldo- you'll not hear me say that again soon!'.. and say it 3 times a game, without irony.
It's like if Vincent Kompany missed a shot and they said 'wow he missed how rare!'. Like wtf, shooting nots what hes known for/good at.

Oh and just to be clear- what I meant was that just because he's good at X (striking, heading, pace etc) doesn't mean we have to pretend or convince ourselves he's amazing at Y as well. This isnt specific to him of course, just a general point.
His overall play (so imagine he wasn't a goalscorer, but his play throught a game remained the same)- isn't at as high a level as his goalscoring is. Which is perfectly fine- he's not a playmaker, he's a scorer. But lets stop pretending those 'playmaking-ish' attributes of his are at 9/10 level (passing, vision, close control and tight dribbling [NOT TRICKERY]) etc

Messi will always outscore Ronald all things being equal as he is a much better finisher. It was Messi who hit 73 goals in a season not Ronaldo and he was on course to break that record the next season before the injury. Ronaldo has benefited greatly from Messi's injury, before that people had stopped comparing the 2 as it was painfully clear that one was on another level from the other.
Messi had a freak season with those 73 goals, not something that will be repeated. In terms of goalscoring they are fairly equal overall, Ronaldo has more ways of scoring, Messi has the best left foot in the world. Messi is a better playmaker, thats the difference.

This list is great but not perfect, our barcaforum member Khlaed revised the list and brought Bicans total down. He had Pele as number 1 but on 757 goals as he removed his military goal and his 9 for the 'selection sao paolo'.
Ronaldo is currently 438 and Messi is on 401. We were all celebrating Messi's 400th goal but by the time he retires I think he will have 400 in La Liga alone. ( currently on 248 )
I think both players will pass the 600 mark, but beyond that is anyone's guess.
Gotta admit that this bugs me. I really wanted Messi to take the record from Raul who is a Madrid legend but it looks certain to be Ronaldo's now. I fact it could seal the Ballon Dor for him. Messi had always bettered Ronaldo in Europe but over the last 3 season ( this one included ) Ronaldo has outscored him by 14 goals which is a pretty astonishing number.
I'm hoping Madrid have an off day on Wedesday and maybe Leo can nick 1 in Paris. Ronaldo goes to Anfield on the 22nd but Messi gets to play before him on the 21st at home to Ajax. The Ajax game has potential for lots of goals so maybe just maybe Leo gets to 71 first. For the record I'm not counting Ronaldo's 1 qualifying goal in the race to 71.

Raul is 71, Ronaldo 68, Messi 67. Ronaldo is 69 if you include the goal he had in qualifying at United but fuck that
A hat trick for Ronaldo in Bulgaria puts him level, but if he does't get the hat trick then Messi gets to play before Ronaldo in week 3. He surely won't hit 4 against Ajax though so he needs something tomorrow... not that he gives a shit but I certainly do arty1:Home of Barca Fans
