What an idiot, why would anyone want to do that?, especially in front of children and in the front row where everyone can see you.

Hopefully it knocks some sense into her and other people who have the same idea.

Spain has to do something to educate these people, there is no point ignoring it.

I struggle to imagine the depths one has to sink to in standing up and actually imitating a monkey in front of children, directing it at someone of color...I mean, there are no words but then again, more & more, I realize we live in a time of hatred, bigotry & prejudice...Feels like we're regressing

Yet, appalling abuse against gay people in the stands and among players and staff go unpunished. It is a selective outrage. People just want to feel good about themselves about condemning something.

Both racism and homophobia are issues that need to be tackled, unfortunately it seems like the latter will take even longer to eradicate, considering homophobia is still a huge problem even in countries where racism no longer really is.

Whats wrong with Barca? No rafinha  , i'm being honest though if Lucho can basically make him Barca's left footed koke i think that would go a long way, oh and no touch line hogging from neymar/alexis/pedro.

Certain things are more important to certain people. Don't assume everybody shares your moral code and concerns. The average slave owner from a long time ago was unbelievably racist by today's standards, but in the majority of cases, that's how they were brought up and they probably didn't think there was anything wrong with their actions. As always, morals are a product of history, time, environments and shared experiences. I wouldn't be surprised if 100 years from now, eating meat is considered immoral.

Not to mention having a charismatic and resourceful person to champion a cause goes a long way. Anti-homophobia hasn't had one the way anti-racism has.

What do you mean footy? You believe we always see a linear evolution towards a more rational and 'enlighten' society and moral? A though that we're making progress all the time and leaving 'dark' times behind toward some sort of neo-enlightemnt? Think again...

My statement related directly to FCBarca's comment about the world (that's how I interpreted "we") regressing in terms of racism. I just think that that couldn't be farther from the truth. One's hearing a LOT more about racism nowadays, and that in itself is evidence that we're not regressing. And a lot more is being done nowadays than before in order to curb it. Just because you're hearing about it more doesn't mean racist feelings have been growing.

I don't get how you got the "enlightened" portion from my comments.

Don't know, I just figured 'enlightenment' is a yardstick towards some sort of higher moral where we don't give a **** about 'race'. But what makes you think we're not actually regressing? In Sweden for example we didn't have any nationalist racist right wing parties until a couple of years ago, nationalism coupled with right wing extremism and even neo-nazism is on the rise across Europe. People have memories shorter than a goldfish - Le Pen, Jobbik, Ukraine's Svoboda and Sweden 'Democrats' to name a few are all gaining momentum in the 21'st century.
