If you think sequence by sequence, you will see Board is using social media platforms to create anti-Messi vibe among supporters. They know they can't sell Messi directly. but they can if they get the fans' approval.

Sport poll, TV3 repeated fake leaks(to harm his reputation), contract renewal not happening for 6-8 months, he saying board members know nothing about foorball and vice versa, it all adds up.He never had to talk like this before. Qatari agents would want him at some Qatari club, hence the repeated PSG & City links. They have to cover 600M as much as they can. It's an elaborate grand design. if the Board goes, this cold approach towards Messi will change otherwise expect more MD & Sport poll and anti-Messi campaigns.

The scary thing is you and a lot of other on here actually believe all that.

Messi is speaking like this as there were slight jeering of him in last game due to what people see as a lack of effort.

In what way has there been 'anti Messi campaigns'?

Do you read MD & Sport page 8-9 editorials?

The writing was on the wall long before Rosell got into office, when he was taking shots at the team amidst the success of Laporta's reign...A culé would be celebrating, not looking ways to break it up...And break it up was always the intention as he saw the team as a commodity to be traded, profited on and repackaged on a routine basis to keep that marketing angle current/fresh

This happens all the time at Barca due to the nature of boards being voted in.

I dont think Rosell was ever attacking the players though. He was attacking Laporta and his behaviour.

Cruyff not a cule either then? As he has pot shots at the club weekly.

Nope. But a lot of what is written in those papers is reported dailly around the world.

I am all ears though.

What have been the 'anti Messi campaigns'?

Okay. One short example that I can found within my reach at the moment. The campaign started last season. After we bought Neymar. It gradually went around many things. Messi's performance, reliability , leadership, partnership with other players etc etc etc.

This is what Sport.es had to say one fine morning -

Batlle+Neymar+Messi+Compatibles.jpg

"I think there will be no problem in the first year between Messi and Neymar. But from there if one grows at the expense of other, there will be problems. I feel they are smart.Leo is aware of his three failures/incompatibilities ( Ibra, Eto'o and Villa) and it will be difficult to justify a fourth to the fans."

Villa , Eto'o , Ibra - these guys were Messi's incompatibilities ? And Messi is to blame for all this?

He was indicating that if Messi & Neymar can't adjust, it is Messi who has to pay the price. This is a very small example. It grew everyday. This article is old and they were indirect about Messi at that time but now they do it directly. Pathetic, pathetic so called journalists.

p.s - you will still not agree with anti-messi campaign. my early bet. :p

I dont agree for one moment that one article shows an 'anti Messi campaign' from the club through the media at all.

This is one guys opinion and for that I would bet there are many articles supporting Messi.

Any more 'evidence'?

He just signed a new contract where he's best paid footballer in the world. Why would he do that if he's unhappy?
Messi got his rested for the World Cup, couldn't stand Ronaldo/Neymar having higher salaries.. injury? Whatever. I'm willing to forget his nonchalant behavior on pitch this season (God knows he deserves a slack).
Next season, however, if he continues to stroll around, I will be perfectly happy if Lucho drops him for whoever is there. Noone is bigger than FCB. End of story.

His comment the day after signing a new contract is that he will be there as long as the people at Barcelona want him.

Signing the contract suggests he still feels wanted.

There isn't even any need to go into too much detail about it; if everything was fine and he felt completely wanted and accepted, he wouldn't say these thigns. Whether he means the board or fans is a different question.

It's hard to adjust to the player he was the majority of this season to the player he was the four seasons before. Maybe we've seen the best of Messi, which would be sad, but I won't get my hopes up for him producing like under Pep ever again :(

Be patient, no point getting sad about something that could be so very different come August.

After Martino confessed his amazing gameplan "we didn't try to involve Messi as much" I'm not going to be worried until I've seen him play under Luis Enrique for a full season.
