Eden Hazard

I don't really get how people can say he's "soooooo overrated", he's clearly Chelsea's most decisive player and at times he just seems too good for Chelsea.
For someone who only recently turned 23, he's already performing impressively.

About the ball-boy incident: I actually didn't even mind him doing that, I'd like it if every player showed this motivation.

ps: I'm not a Chelsea fan, in fact I really hate them but I just don't see a reason to call Hazard overrated.

He's been as much poor as he's been good this season. He seems to have those moments of brilliance but he's a hype machine generally

He hasn't really been poor, just not brilliant in his games where he's not super influential. He hasn't really had bad games all season, the bar is set high so people are more critical.

Speaking as a disinterested observer, Hazard has serious talent- on the ball, off the ball, vision, passing, shooting. I don't see how anyone can deny that. Not overrated at all.

His perfectly weighted outside of boot carpet pass throughball assist for Schürrle yesterday is a great example.

Belgium in my top 5 for WC 2014.

Y u speak in my name? :coffee:

He's actually limited by that shit on a stick "let's play with 10 grafters" Mourinhoball setup. Alongside Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc, Neymar instead of Matic, Luiz, Willian, Ramires, Torres he'd blossom a lot more.

Yup. Though a lesser talent, same reason Dries Mertens is only half of what he could be at Napoli. Counterattacking/direct play just doesn't provide a good platform for players with exceptional technical ability.

Hazard is a hype machine? Are you serious ahahahaha

I hate Chelsea, and I mean I HATE Chelsea but I don't know how anyone who watches Chelsea, and in so Hazard, regularly can say Hazard is overrated. When he plays good, Chelsea plays good. At times, the kid is purely unplayable. Just because he doesn't have an unbelievable game EVERY game doesn't mean he's overrated.

He is consistently good, never BAD games, while being absolutely stunning in a decent amount of games.

He is not overrated. The best in the world, no. However, give me a list of attacking, creative midfielders and I'm willing to say he's better than the vast majority of them.

Short interview with Eden :

Edit : A reporter asked what he lacks from being the best player in the world, he replied with : "Me being twice as good as I am now".

So far for his 'big ego'...

He's a lot more grounded than people think, he just has a lot of ambition. Guys like him need ambition, and he's got loads of it. It's just that a bunch of big Messi and Ronaldo fans don't take kindly to him wanting to reach that level. He can get close, and for most players that's more than good enough. I really hope he doesn't leave for PSG until he's over 30, if he does plan to leave. This team needs the guy, and knowing that gives him the confidence to succeed. He's a star, there's no doubt, but he's far from the finished article.

Hazard is soooo overrated...that is just not healthy

The British media have to have ONE shining light from this country. Messi and Ronaldo are so far ahead of anybody else that it's natural that our media/ our commentators/ our tv show hosts over talk somebody.

Hazard is having the season of his life, but it's still overrated I agree.
