Ronaldo will still be voted second to Messi, unless a lot of players decide to plot against him and vote for Ribery. The only time Ronaldo wasn't second place was when he wasn't even in the top 3 in 2010, when Messi, Iniesta and Xavi were the top 3. Funnily enough, this was also the year Wesley Snejder won the treble and reached the WC final - and didn't even make it to the fourth place. So there is a chance Ribery might not end up in the top 3 at all. How funny it would be to see a top 3 of Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo

Btw: Last year's votes were 43% Messi, 25% Ronaldo and 11% Iniesta. And Iniesta had previously won the Uefa award. If that's anything to go by, it will be an easy race.

No, no Ribery please! I really don't think Ribery should be considered the best player in the World. Even Cr7 is much better (and I am not even mentioning Messi). Bayern were the best as a TEAM.
So who has been the best player on the planet for the last 10 months? Imo a difficult one this year.

Ever since Messi emerged, form is not a decisive factor. Before, people looked at who had the best year, but since Messi, most people see no choice but to vote for him. The same applies for Ronaldo to a lesser extent though. Every future winner will look like a downgrade compared to Messi (or Ronaldo perhaps), that's why Messi will be among the top 3 as long as he's active. It should be a huuuge surprise if he doesn't get it this year.
